Hello Plane Mad. Welcome to Luchtzak
As of now, i think that they will use the same as AI, but maybe later they apply and are issued another code. Current code of AI is AIC.
Also please note that Air-India Express is Air-India’s low-cost airline subsidiary that will launch operations on April 29, 2005, even though no news till today. Tomm being the launch.
Air-India Express promises to offer trips to the Gulf from India at 25% lower fares than Air India, will operate on a zero-commission basis. The airline fleet will include 18 Boeing 737-800W aircraft planned to inducted over 2 years. They have already picked up 3. VT-AXA. VT-AXB and yes VT-AXC.

AIC is the current one which AirIndia has.PlaneMad wrote:What ICAO code are they using?
AIC or AIE or AIX?
AIE is the ICAO code for Air Inuit Ltd based in Canada, so that is ruled out.
And AIX is the ICAO code for AIX Aircruising Australia aka Cruiser, so i guess that is ruled out too.
Maybe you could also view and look http://www.answers.com/topic/icao-airline-designator.
Hope that helped.
