Re: New long-haul revolutionary configuration at B.Airlines
It's the same seat, dude... Get over it. The number of seats doesn't matter.
Jee, what have they done to you? Got sacked by them, or what. It is really getting pathetic.
Edit: sorry for loosing my temper.

I have changed it for easy reading.Flanker wrote:an edit fromInquirer wrote:Is it important for individual pax comfort how the seats are spread out then?

Glad that you saw that you're writing bullocks.
It stays between you and me ok? :shh:
The only difference I see is that on the odd rows, Swiss has a 2-2-1 configuration, whereas BAir has opted for a 2-1-2 configuration.
Now, can you elaborate what the difference is, because I am obviously too stupid to grasp it as a passenger, but you will happily explain me for sure, right?
Re: New long-haul revolutionary configuration at B.Airlines
LX has a combination of 1-2-2 and 1-2-1, SN has 1-2-1 and 2-1-2...what does that matter, if that fits better for them? The seats are the same (sorry, not the same, they're improved)...
BTW, still fail to see what you mean with 9 abreast... They've economy with 8 abreast (2-4-2) and business with 4 to 5 abreast. And the seats are as wide as every other good business seat...
Once again you are trying to turn a good thing of SN into a bad thing...read the comments of the normal people (and the pax) about these seats and face the truth...(the real truth, not what YOU think is the truth)

Re: New long-haul revolutionary configuration at B.Airlines
Because there isn't any, IMHO: 2-2-1 is just the same as 2-1-2, the first one just a bit odd at first.
You better take a good look into a Swiss business class cabin to figure this one out: by your weird method of counting, they are at 9 abreast to you know???

No commentFlanker wrote:9 abreast configuration in business class!
Not at all!! While on the right hand side on LX there are only single seats (contrary to SN), the 'center double seat' units on LX are much wider than the SN ones (one seat always has an extra 'side table'), so in the end the occupied space is practically the same and there is NOT 'much more squeezing involved'!!!Flanker wrote:Very different from the LX configuration, much more squeezing involved!!!
Re: New long-haul revolutionary configuration at B.Airlines
Indeed!
Here you go: count to 9, flanker!
http://jetphotos.net/viewphoto.php?id=6729496
You are forgiven for failing to know the seat block of 2 at Swiss has indeed an extra armrest/table installed, thus taking away the benefit of the single armrest/table of the individual K seats....
The picture really shows well the oddness of the Swiss cabin BTW, not only the somewhat weird and asymmetric 2-2-1 on 1 out of 2 rows, but also the 2 different individual seats types Swiss has...

Excuse me but you are just having a pissing contest; I am out of this topic and you got it wrong, sir.
Be a man and admit it.

Re: New long-haul revolutionary configuration at B.Airlines
First of all, original way of counting, I must admit that...
And about the pictures, did you also figured out that the quality of these pics is crap...bad pictures can even look shining diamonds like a litle grey stone. But of course you know it better, I'm sorry I've ever doubted about that...

Re: New long-haul revolutionary configuration at B.Airlines
If you don't like it, don't fly it. I'm sure there are other people enough that ARE willing to fly in these crappy seats...

Re: New long-haul revolutionary configuration at B.Airlines
A friend complained last week a bit that because he changed employment he has to fly BA business. He preferred both Lufthansa and Swissair for long haul , mostly to China.
It had only to do with the seating in BA business ( not world Traveller plus ) , not with Heathrow, lounges, food or the cheap outlook of plastic fittings
His experience with Star Alliance members is so big that he made 2 trips on free miles to the other side of the world in 1 month, in business.
But yeah, what is the value of the word of a friend against that of somebody who says he has been on that plane more times than you have seen it with your eyes.

Interesting idea, we have a look into it
.
Thanks for flanking another topic tho
Re: New long-haul revolutionary configuration at B.Airlines
Idem dito (with identical LX seats- and I am a heavy, big and very tall guy... no issues at all... UA's new C-class (8 abreast on a 777) is very cramped compared to this, trust me...sn26567 wrote: Mine do. I've tried the seats, and I'm not a dwarf!
But then again, Flanker/NCB's mission is to destruct SN stone by stone to the ground... Wait, did I just say stone by stone? I think he bought and excavator this time to do the job...
Re: New long-haul revolutionary configuration at B.Airlines
.Ignore function
For bozo filter you have to add him as 'Foe' in CP... is weird name for this function, imo

Re: New long-haul revolutionary configuration at B.Airlines
I see the resident nutcase has entertained you all with his brilliant insights overnight?
This time our stand-up comedian rightfully noticed that at LX, the individual seats on the right side of their cabin (the K seats) have just 1 personal cocktail table and being overly happy to have found a new stick to beat SN with, he immediately concluded that as at SN all individual seats have indeed 2 such tables, regardless their position in the cabin, the seats itself must surely be narrower in order to still fit 5 in a row... or mustn't they?
Nope....
At SWISS, twinseats used as middle seatblock have an additional cocktail table too (contrary to those at SN or in fact those at LX installed in the left of the cabin), so in the end when considering a full seat row, there is no difference at all between a 2-1-2 or a 2-2-1. What a surprise...
Why does LX do it differently then, you may ask?
Because in the LX configuration, there's 1 extra seat per 2 rows which is having direct aisle access.
LX deems this highly important, because 8 out of 10 of their C class pax are traveling individually.
At SN, this is only 5 out of 10, so this particular issue is far less important to them, whereas their symmetric 2-1-2 configuration has several benefits over the far more complicated 2-2-1 of LX.
Finally, about the seat itself....
Here you can find all its technical details: http://www.contour.aero/businessclass/vantage
The seat offers 23 inches at sholder hight as you can see: If Flanker doesn't fit in it like he pretends, he must be of a very odd posture for sure: I can only image him being short as a garden gnome, yet with an incredibly swollen head.
PS: foe'd him too.
