Sorry to contradict you! VLM is a Belgian airline (see their registration: OO-...), owned by a Dutchman. And London City is their main hub, even if their home base is Antwerp.

So SkyEurope ( http://www.airliners.net/open.file/451274/L/
, www.skyeurope.com) is a Belgian Company or what? Because it's owned by a Belgian businessman. This is non sense. It doesn't matter where the owner comes from. And what about that Easyjet guy? Stelios?
VLM is a Belgian company: its seat is in Belgium. easyJet is a UK company in the UK and a Swiss company in Switzerland. Virgin Express is also a Belgian company. And SkyEurope is a Slovakian company. The nationality of the owner or Chairman has nothing to do with it. I never said anything else.

This is a pure registration issue and in this and ONLY this context as you can read in the above quote.
It is a simple answer to EBAW_flyer's

for their major hub airport (London City).

What is your problem with the Belgian flag, Lars? If you start making politics on this forum, I will feel obliged to censor your mails.
Aircraft from EU countries usually bear the EU flag together with the national flag of their home country.
Why should VLM be different?
Censor?? 8O Freedom of speech, never heared of it?? 8O
I don't have a "problem" with the belgian flag, I just don't like it because I don't feel belgian myself. I see myself as a Flemish European or a European Fleming. (But that's very personal ofcourse)
And VLM is indeed a Flemish airline (Vlààmse Luchtvaart Maatschappij), the Flemish lion is even part of their logo. And VLM is based in Antwerp.
(I know that VLM is officially a Belgian airline, because Flanders is (for now) still part of "Belgium". But things can change....
I think that Chris made the right and final conclusion. As this is not a political forum, but a forum for aviation lovers, I close and archive this topic.
We cannot accept messages of hatred on this forum. This goes also for opinions about the EU: I have edited one message about it.
