please urgently amend arrivals for Sunday on biac.be: because the plane leaves with a 13 hour delay, your flight from Punta Cana via Puerto Plata to Brussels, expected for 06h50, will also be delayed with these 13 hours.
It's unbelievable that Jetair don't take any action about this current situation. They have to get rid of that aircraft and lease two aircrafts so that they can fly on a normal way and not a stressy schedule like now.
On Saturday, OO-TUC (= 763) arrived from Varadero / Cancun at 07h42. Scheduled arrival was 06h40. The plane had to go into technical: engine nr 1 had to be replaced (in Hangar 41).
The next flight from OO-TUC was Puerto Plata / Punta Cana, scheduled for dep at 09h05 (Saturday morning): this flight was delayed of course. First till 11h00, then 17h00, then 22h00. TUB found a replacement meanwhile: a 747-300 from Corsair (F-GSKY). This 743 left at 22h44 Saturday evening.
The normal return flight from the Dominican, TUB8602 (763), was supposed to arrive in BRU at 06h50 this Sunday morning. That flight was first announced as delayed till Monday morning 04h30, then cancelled.
It's now being replaced by TUB8602, arrival Monday morning 06h10, EQP 743.
Let's hope Corsair was able to arrange a crew for their 743 return flight, as the crew waiting in the Dominican was a 763-crew...
This isn't bad luck anymore: Elie Bruyninckx (TUI Airlines Belgium) and Bart Brackx (TUI - Jetair) have to conclude this OO-TUC has to be returned to sender.

that's indeed the big question for Jetair now! but that's not so easy, I think... if they have a contract for a few years...
how could this happen in a modern country like Belgium... Why didn't they see it when they checked the plane from Varig???
This can't be called 'bad luck' anymore... just a bad purchase...
unaware.... or maybe aware (low leasing charge)??????

Too easy too say in my opinion !! The plane already had an "heavy" technical log with Varig. When you operate on a single plane basis you have to take all the precautions on your side and take a very good and reliable airplance since any technical irregularity will place you in a delay in chain situation.
The fact is that TUI tried to save a lot of money the back of all those "poor overcharged tourists".
And this is THE shame.
You are right. The logbook was totaly unreliable. The B767 was even took out from the fleet of Varig due to bad maintenance. After some time it went back to Varig.
