Re: Boeing 737 (MAX) news
Boeing has it secured its first B737 MAX order in 2020, while also recording 17 more cancellations as customers continued to ditch orders for the grounded MAX jets. Boeing delivered 13 aircraft in August.
Virgin Australia Holdings is returning a third of its fleet of B737 planes to lessors and financiers as part of a turnaround plan under new owner Bain Capital (US). It has renegotiated financing terms for 56 of the 85 B737s. Virgin Australia is also axing flights to seven domestic destinations – and withdrawing from Tonga – as the airline’s new owner moves to right-size Virgin’s network, rebuild its financial position, and transition to an all-B737 fleet.

Re: Boeing 737 (MAX) news
Fatal crashes of Boeing’s 737 Max were a “horrific culmination” of engineering flaws, mismanagement and oversight lapses, a congressional report says.
The report, which condemns both Boeing and the Federal Aviation Administration for safety failures, concludes an 18-month investigation based on interviews with two dozen Boeing and agency employees and an estimated 600,000 pages of records.
Two crashes, in Indonesia in October 2018 and in Ethiopia in March 2019, killed 346 people aboard Boeing’s 737 Max and led to the worldwide grounding of the plane.
