Okay COMET. You are the authority in travelling here
And your travelogues and experienced writings with minute details have led me to believe that either you are one of the LEAD AUTHORS at Lonely Planet or you write for them under a pseudo name.
But it is in the UK is a very very very very very BIG clue
Specifics to the less priviledged shall help people like me

Ok, another hint to help you. This town is in North Yorkshire, though not on the coast (that removes Scarborough).
Another clue - the trains you see at this town railway station are not the regular diesels and electrics you get in the UK (the railway is a big attraction of this town, that is why I mention it
)
And another one - I've been there today and got back 40 minutes ago

No, not Malton. Malton is served by boring old Class 158s and is 20 minutes by train from Scarborough.
This town will not be found on the regular railways map and you will never see a Class 158 there (not for a long time until they become antiques
)
This town also has a castle.

Pickering is correct. The photo shows Beck Isle Museum of Rural Life, open from March to end of October and where I sometimes work on a Saturday. I was working there today. Please visit Beck Isle when in Pickering
The railway there is the North Yorkshire Moors steam (and sometimes old diesels) railway.
Your turn HorsePower.

How interesting! In September 2003 I only did one day work at the museum, as I was on holiday in Mechelen for part of that month. We do get people from Belgium from time to time, and I love reading the guestbook to see where the visitors are coming from. The photo was taken in July last year.jan_olieslagers wrote: We visited the museum & my partner rode the steamtrain through the moors in September 2003. All very nice experiences, but I would never have recognized the museum from that photograph!
The occasion for the trip was a visit to the Europa kit aircraft manufacturers in Kirkbymoorside - I have the fondest memories
both of the company and of the George & Dragon!
