Yeah, we saw the A330 that day while spotting...they had to taxi the plane to the maintenance hanger...and I think it is a Tristar that is replacing it.
Perhaps a construction fault in the engine?(it is not the first time)
Don't know...pitty we weren't that early at BRU...
Regards

Man, what do those pilots thinktoday I spoke with someone important at SN BA and in fact they asked Sobelair to do a flight to Africa. The Sobelair-management agreed (jackpot !!) but the pilots refused!!! Can you believe this! In trouble but refusing any cooperation!![]()

I guess it were the same pilots who sent a fax to Aldo V to refuse any co-operation with SN BA, because it would mean a drop in their salaries? And these pilots have the support of Luc Mellaerts, executive director of Sobelair, against the opinion of Aldo V.luchtzak wrote:today I spoke with someone important at SN BA and in fact they asked Sobelair to do a flight to Africa. Yes, there is still some Sabena spirit there (in the bad sense of the word: not everything was bright at Sabena!).

I heard from a friend of mine (in the know) that the curator thinks/knows that sobelair will go bankrupt for SURE at the end of the summer.
Ok I know that we'll have to see it before we can be sure of it but hey, some people also said SABENA would never go bankrupt.
I did some observation flights with sobelair and though it was a lot of fun they all were of the solid conviction that sobelair should have taken over after the demise of Sabena and not DAT. The atmosphere is definately very hostile towards SNBA out there
I wish they would wake up and smell the shit that's risen right up to their noses and the fan's not that much higher.
They should face the facts that we are their only hope but I guess some of them are only willing to learn it the hard way
which is really egoistic of them because I'm sure not all of them think that way.
Just my idea.
Nice flying ya all.

I think you're absolutely right about SOME Sobelair pilots, dolfke.
Back to the topic, it seems that the skies are clearing up: three departures to Africa today on A333s, according to the BIAC website:
10:20 Nairobi via Kigali SN 465
11:00 Kinshasa via Douala SN 351 (the flight cancelled yesterday)
12:10 Conakry via Dakar SN 205 (delayed until 14:30)
