Singapore Airlines (SIA) will start flying to Sao Paulo, its first South American destination, from March 28.

The Asian carrier will operate a three times weekly service to the largest city in Brazil, with a stop in Barcelona en route.

Flight SQ68 will leave Singapore at 12.40am, on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays, arriving into Sao Paulo at 3.55pm.

On Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays, Flight SQ67 will leave Sao Paulo at 1.45am, arriving into Singapore at 1.35pm the following day.

Fellow Star Alliance carrier Spanair will codeshare on the route, which will be operated using a Boeing 777-300ER, in a three class configuration (First Class, Business Class and Economy Class).
