Airbus has rung up an impressive order (with Qatar AL), but I'll pick Boeing's record (for the 787) over Airbus (for the A350). Boeing has received orders from some impressive, blue-chip airlines, while Airbus's orders are from smaller, less established airllines whose future is less certan.peacemaker wrote:and how many sales has boeing? airbus has a looot of orders 8)
Let's see how the order books stand at the end of the year.
I think that cx will order A380 ..laterCX wrote:When will a cathay A380 order come? I wonderA350XWB wrote:http://www.airbus.com/en/airbuslive/bou ... htm?id=698

Wow wow wow: Qatar, Etihad, Air France, Kingfisher, Aeroflot are less established airlines? Not to mention world's best Singapore...?while Airbus's orders are from smaller, less established airllines whose future is less certan.
What about Brititish Airways?
Are they planning something?

I was referring solely to the A350 vs. B787. I do not believe that Air France has ordered the A350; I believe that Kingfisher started-up in June 2005; Ethad was established in July 2003; Qatar was established in 1994 (I believe); has Singapore ordered the current A350 (I am not sure); Aeroflot's history is not the best. US Air (which combined US Air and American West is 2005) is probably the most developed of those ordering the plane. Finnair is well established, but small.FLY4HOURS.BE wrote:Wow wow wow: Qatar, Etihad, Air France, Kingfisher, Aeroflot are less established airlines? While most of these are growing airlines and apparently have capital behind them, their futures and ability to compete on a number of new growth routes is not completely certain. Perhaps I should have used the word "young" not "smaller". Anyway, Boeing has a larger number of (B787) orders with options from more established airlines with proven histories.
Just when things were starting to go better, a little setback for the A380 program:

Etihad Airways was founded in March 2003 and Qatar Airways in 1997.smokejumper wrote:I was referring solely to the A350 vs. B787. ILFC is gonna do something big to ensure they are in the game with the XWB and on time...
They are dealing with Airbus at this very moment.
Issue seems to be the choice of the engines which is limited to the RR but there surely will be a GE too.
Airbus expects to sell 160 more XWB orders at the airshow.
