I think you'll find 'frequency' was used in the meaning of "how many times a week / a day does a company operate the flight" and not which radio frequency is used ;)

With the confirmation of the B772 of Continental to BRU as from 27 March and, I hope, the start of Jet Airways as from August also with a B777 we will see three B777 a day at Brussels Airport.

One B777 of CO and two B777 of Jet Airways.

Starting from March 25 Ukrainian Airlines will fly daily to Brussels on weekdays (no weekend flights), which is an extra flight a week compared to the winter schedule (and in my believe also compared to last year's summer schedule)

Source : Ukrainian Airlines booking engine

I suppose code share with Brussels Airlines will stop on the 25 th of March, but information provided is very unclear (front desk Brussels Airlines : "no code share" after this date, help desk (phone) : "code share", web site : Kiev not mentioned, Ukraine however displayed on map as destination country...)

In short : it's about time to come with clear info about what will happen after March 25...

I don't know if it has been mentioned already however "De Tijd" talks about Air Berlin coming to brussel 4 daily to berlin in summer. (looks a lot for a first route)

Could be 4 flights a day and connecting more than Berlin

Post by BrightCedars »

I think Air Berlin, if or when they come to Brussels, will definitely play the hub game as they do everywhere else. Hence, they will surely connect Brussels with Berlin, but also with their hub at Mallorca.
A plane doing BER-BRU-PMI-...-PMI-BRU-BER (I don't know where they operate in BER) would actually give 4 flights a day totalling in/out BRU, provide a good connection for Berliners on 1-day business trips to Brussels and open up connections via PMI hub. Maybe at a later stage a plane would overnight at BRU to give the same option to Brussels born 1-day business trips to Berlin.

Air Berlin will decide next week if they will come to BRU or not. If they come they will use the new B737-800 and fly a morning and evening flight.

Berlin Tegel will be the destination even as Palma. Brussels Airlines, Thomas Cook and Jetairfly will see big competition when Air Berlin will come.

About Easyjet. Its 99% certain they will come. Negociations about ops are finished. They have now talks about the finances.

I saw tonight on the Brussels Airport site that the Hewa Bora will fly a B767. Can we presume that this is correct?

Yes, it was the EC-JOZ Boeing 767-200 of Bravo air flying for Hewa Bora, parked at gate 201.

Also some news from the Sun Air / British Airways front.

As of April 16 they will increase the Billund flights from 16 to 23 weekly flights.

Also from this date on they will operate a 11 weekly flight between Brussels and Bern.

Madrid was also a rumour. No further news about that. But those are typical TV routes. With the merger, Easyjet is now free to compete against Brussels Airlines.

Thank you Atlantis.

Since the flights will be operated by a Sun-Air of Scandinavia Do-328, I thought that it would be the continuation of the BLL-BRU flights. But the timetable seems incompatible. It means that either an EZ Do-328 will be ferried from somewhere in Scandinavia, or it will come as a regular flight from another Scandinavian destination than BLL. Any idea?

PS [edit] I found the answer on the Sun-Air website. The flights BLL-BRU will change after 15 April (contrarily to what is posted on the Brussels Airport website). It will indeed be the flight from BLL that continues to BRN.

See (in Danish only!): http://www.sunair.dk/cms.cfm?nPageNo=38 ... lierID=412 and http://www.sunair.dk/cms.cfm?nPageNo=48 ... lierID=412

Interesting to notice that BLL-BRU is codeshared with SN, but not BRU-BRN...
