I guess due to the delays with the pax version, they haven't even finalised the design of the freighter yet.. "design" as in how things load onto the aircraft, actual dimensions etc. i guess.. Emirates was saying before.Berova wrote:Can anyone explain to me if the Airbus 380 delays are due only to the complex wiring of passenger jets, why would the 380F's be delayed as well?
Also, unless Thai don't want jumbos in the near future, why would they cancel A380s which may end up costing less than a A340? They are a major Airbus operator.
The A380 landed at HKG today and the local news said that the airport only built FOUR A380 parking spaces (i think they meant Gates) for the beast... well if they are not building new A380 gates at the moment, it looks like Cathay is not ordering any beasts any time soon..(conservatism or not needing it?) Airbus expected CX will eventually order about 20. Also some random aircraft technician from a Hong Kong tertiary institution said "they"(as in themselves and thinking the HK airport authority) need to look at how the vortex and airflow etc. affects other aircrafts THEMSELVES... what the..
