Chunk - my loathing of the England team began when Ms David Beckham was made captain, at least Alan Shearer was a proper man and looked like a proper man and didn't wear women's clothes and pink nail varnish. I always say that other teams field 11 men whereas England are only ever fielding 10 men

Since the year 2000 I have wanted nothing more than to be a Belgian, ever since the :censored: Blair government and its legalised discrimination against the over 25s rendered me unemployable. No one will train anyone over 25 for any sort of work because the Blair government gives financial incentives to employers to only train under 25s. When the upper age limit of the Modern Apprenticeship was "removed" there was still a catch because employers only got funding for trainees under 25, which means that no one is going to train someone over 25 to do a job when there are plenty of stupid bimbos around. I was even kicked out of a place just to make way for someone younger  So I have very little loyalty towards England now.

Sorry to go :offtopic: on here but I just thought I'd explain my thinking behind why I never support anything England do, apart from loathing Beckham.

Maximum respect Louise.....Beckham himself is just stupid, his wife on the other hand is shocking. Does anyone think she is attractive for a start??? My god - what a talentless cow....at least David can hit a rare free-kick. Wish he had a scottish granny!

I have my own reasons for hating Blair but I have a get out and can say I'm Scottish and only have a British passport 'cos there is no alternative!

Anyway, what is wrong with a civilised discussion about football?

Chunk - Beckham would make a great rugby penalty kicker - he seems to think that when kicking a penalty you aim the ball over the bar and not under it! The laughs we had when he made that balls up against Portugal in Euro 2004, and everyone else in the stadium seemed to be laughing as well  But instead of blaming himself, Beckham blamed the grass! I think he missed more shots at goal in that tournament than anyone else did.

And his wife is talentless, but at least at the moment she seems to be keeping her mouth shut, unlike Natasha Bedingfield, whose wailings and screaming we are constantly subjected to by the local radio station

There is some talk in the press over here that we will once again be lumbered with Lady Beckham after Real Madrid had their poorest seasons for ages with him in the team. Ever since his wife had the latest sprog carved out of her belly we've had to endure articles about how she is getting back into shape and losing weight, and photos of Lady Beckham sucking his kid's dummy.

Scarborough fans are crowing about what a good season they've had at home, something to crow about, it's not like they've been promoted or anything

Barnsley continue their annual fight against promotion (they did make it into the Premiership once but only lasted one season). I don't know how anyone can pay out money to watch teams that have no ambition. same as I don't understand the mentality of supporting a team just because it's where you come from. If I don't want to suport a team, then I don't, I don't have a slavish devotion to any team just because I lived in the town where they play! I used to follow the results of Arsenal until they became nothing more than an extension of the French national side!

Like back in Paris in 2002 we were on a boat trip with a load of Scottish schoolkids, who thougth it was great to shout at the English tourists that Brazil had recently beaten England in the World Cup! I would have loved to seen the look on their faces if we had turned round and gleefully reminded them of Belgium beating Scotland in September 2001!

(And now the football thread has been rehashed, I promise I will not use it as an excuse to laugh at the misfortunes of the Forum Administrator's team  )

At the weekend, Chelsea won their first Championship in 50 years, nice to see someone other than Manchester bloody United winning something I have to say.

VC10 tells me there is plenty of sh*t fodder for the lining of the birds' cage, has anyone ever seen a photo of Beckham's wife where she actually has her gob fully closed?

Chelsea and Liverpool face each other in the Champions League tonight. I hope Chelsea win, not that I'm a Chelsea fan but it would be nice to see a different team winning for a change, especially since they have just become English champions for the first time in 50 years.

Go Chelsea!

That will please our friends in Liverpool at least (well, one of them  )

Would have been so nice for Chelsea to win but good I suppose that there is an English team through. The only team I wouldn't want to see there is Manchester United.

From the English Championship - Wigan, a team which has only been playing professionally for 27 years, have been promoted to the Premiership. Nice to see the smaller clubs going well and getting promoted, but I feel that they won't be there long! Barnsley won promotion back in the 1990s and only stayed there one season before they plummeted.

And of course, the first English non-league side to win automatic promotion was Scarborough!

More interesting bits of football news when I can find them

A tip for those who like to bet on football-related things

Place bets on both Rangers and Celtic to win the Scottish Premier League and you are guaranteed to win something when the end of the season comes around

Now I am no longer able to work on VC10 Complains, I will turn my attentions to the Football Topic.

Southampton are relegated from the top lot for the first time in years. Norwich are down as well, and Crystal Palace.

I know the season is almost over Fons, but at the weekend we have the FA Cup Final between Manchester United and Arsenal. Thierry Henry is out for Arsenal. Also, the season is not yet over in Scotland either.

Go Arsenal :kvole: Thrash Man United!!!
