I would assume that the MAX would be built on the same line as the NG? So one extra NG produced would mean one less MAX produced. No, Boeing still has quite some production slots to fill for the NG before MAX will enter production (more than Airbus does, as the NEO has an earlier EIS). It's not that Boeing will transform planned MAX-production slots into NG production slots because of an extra order. Besides, probably Boeing will launch a new line for the MAX, eventually transforming the other lines in MAX as well. I believe there are currently 3 737 production lines, so there will be a period that they'll be making both, you can't change the whole production from one day to another.earthman wrote:
