Wasn't LIS one of the destinations that is going to be halted by SN for W12/13?

A result of Delta's plan to reduce transatlantic capacity with another 5% in the comming winter season (they already reduced transatlantic capacity past winter and this summer).
Starting Sunday October 28th a new schedule for Cork to Brussels with Aer Lingus. Originally a summer only route, it will now be year round. The frequency will go from 3 weekly to 4 weekly. The extra flight being on Sundays. Flight times change to a later time in the evening.
Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
Cork to Brussels: 4:30pm - 7:05pm
Brussels to Cork: 7:45pm - 8:25pm
Wow this suprises me...I really tought an A320 is too big for this route even in summer. But now they go year round, which is already quite good, but they even add more capacity...

What else?
(I know, easy pun but here it is an Irish Coffee !)
Their smallest tube is an A319 no? And I think they only have 3 of these so maybe bite the bullet, use an A320 on BRU and keep their A319 for thinner routes and/or Mx?

It's not the first time Aer Lingus planned this route, they did it before, but it never made it to the bookings. Back then they planned the ATR operated by Aer Lingus Regional. But apperently the A320 was better suited for this route, and their winter shedule shows that they are doing quite well it seems.
(btw, Aer Lingus Regional only operates one French, seasonal, destination in continental Europe I think, the rest is Ireland and UK)
Thought Aer Lingus ATR's don't exist it was just in the colours of Aer Lingus but operated by Air Arann,
so it was just luck that you have a green plane of EI or a blue one from Aer Arann itself..
Great to see that Cork is still there in winter, didn't expected it really !
They started to operate a certain part of their fleet under the brand of Aer Lingus Regional, in coorperation with Aer Lingus, because they don't have small aircraft for certain UK routes. But earlier this year it was announced that Aer Arann would stop to exist as a stand alone airline, except for one route they operate all their flights under the Aer Lingus brand/flight number.
Anyway, it was the original idea that Aer Arann/Aer Lingus Regional would fly from Cork to BRU. But apperently there is more potential in this route.
Already had my confusions about the EI ATR's when I saw it last sunday again in BHX !
So Aer Arann is gone soon and domestic flights will be bookable again on Aer Lingus site I guess..

New for Thomas Cook yes, but new for Brussels Airport...? As far as I know Jetairfly also serves these two destinations. (Or did they stop these flights?)

This flight is new for Thomas Cook Airlines but not for Brussels Airport. Both destinations are now already flown for 3 years (if I'm not mistaken) ex-BRU.
Jetairfly is still flying to these destinations and their flights are doing very well such as those destinations in general. More and more hotels are opening their doors now. That's why Jetairfly and Thomas Cook Airlines can fly to this destination as those hotels (group) are in their portfolio as touroperator.
