Sweden as an outsider? Really? Why not Switzerland as well than?

But you were right not to pick the Netherlands: their results are downhill and Belgium could have done much better ;-)

I couldn't agree more! I don't know too much about football, but how our football team plays, I think that that isn't football. Very bad. I don't think they will win or so. I think the story will end soon for the Netherlands. ;)

To all those who are listing England as candidates to win Euro 2004 - please don't tempt fate - it won't be you who has to suffer the consequences of an England win :(

Spain play their first match of the tournament against Russia on Saturday.
Go and win it Spain! :kvole: :kvole: :kvole: :kvole:

Our newspaper today has photos of Beckham's boots - the stupid git has his kids' names embroidered on both boots :pukey:

I would love to have seen Belgium in this tournament, then the flat could have been decked out in black, yellow and red and put the huge Belgian flag I have to some use (along with my Belgium scarf and Sonck top)

I hope Spain beat Russia tonight, and then go on to win the tournament :kvole:

And best of luck to France in their match against England tomorrow - go thrash Beckham, beat England into the ground and do us all a favour!

Louise, these days you seem more interested in football than in aviation ;-)

  Merely sharing with you what our media features about the tournament

(And don't worry, I haven't lost my aviation interest - I'm counting down the days to my next SNBA flight in September, and the weeks to the one in November  )

And tonight I am going to enjoy my Hapkin :drink: (wrong colour for Hapkin - can we have a little icon drinking a golden beer as well as our little Gulden Draak drinker?)

No, our newspaper is not the Sun, it's the Daily Express (easily obtainable in Brussels Airport), but it doesn't make any difference, all the media has the same end to end Beckham coverage we all know and hate!

And great result for Spain :kvole: Pity Greece scored more goals in their game though, because that would put them at the top of group A.

And good luck to France against England (though if their defence of the European Cup is as good as their defence of the World Cup I wouldn't hold out much hope  )

I just knew that Comet would react on this when Beckham missed the penalty!

Anyway it was a nice game! My opinion that Zinedine Zidane and his teammates deserved the victory!

It made my night when I knew Beckham had missed the penalty  Now for more great news - England are bottom of Group B, as they are the only team in the group to have lost a game  I hope they carry on in that way

On a more serious note - it was good to compare the talent of Zidane with the "talent" of Beckham. Both had a free kick and a penalty - Zidane scores from both of his opportunities, Beckham doesn't score from either, but he takes the credit for Lampard's goal just because he passed the bloody ball to him. Beckham should not be credited for that goal because it was not him who scored, but this is the problem with the English media, as I have said, as far as they are concerned, Beckham is the only player in the England team.

I am pleased that France won, but I am still supporting Spain in the absence of Belgium.

Here's a sample of the Beckham overkill we are subjected to over here in England. It's the front page of one newspaper, but, believe me, this photo is on all the newspaper covers this morning!

Image

Beckham in tears  The stupid jessie  (Oh dear I am in such a good mood after last night's wonderful result    )

Spain beat Russia!!

We did not play very well, but still we won the 3 points. i hope they improve their game.

Anyway comet, why are you so angry about becks? Forget about his private life and all the shit arround him and focus in becks as a player. Don't you think he is a good player? Yesterday he failed a penalty, but he gave a very nice pass to create the first goal.

Look, as a Real Madrid supporter, the captains of the two teams plays in RM, so I am sorry about the penalty miss, but I am so happy Zidane scored the two goals for france!

So let give becks a chance to proof the player inside of him and forget the rest.

Comet....where are you from? Why are you supporting (apparently) Spain?
