Perhaps EK just orders bunches of A380 to be able to replace them when the first ones are 10 years old and also to make sure that the production line stays open until that time? Ordering planes and their replacements at the same time.

The situation is obvious: they aim for big, but they are running out of cash ... they want to expand a little bit too fast I guess so .

Sources you can rely on.???

Do you think they pay these planes cash?

Parking and pilot recruitement could eventually slow down the expansion. But cash?

EK's 17th A380 was delivered over 2 weeks ago, they experienced no financing problem whatsoever.

They have also secured financing for the majority of new aircraft to be received next year (around 25-30). As long as the company's liquidity remains good, Emirates will have little problems securing adequate financing.

Qatar places Airbus, Boeing orders after Dubai drama

Qatar Airways (QR) ordered 50 Airbus A320s and five A380s, worth a reported $6.5 billion at the Dubai Airshow—alongside a Boeing order for two 777 freighters worth $560 million—but the Airbus order was only secured after some high drama.

A press conference between Airbus and QR was called off by the carrier, who then held a press conference with Boeing.

Good week for Airbus: they wrapped up Dubai airshow with 135 orders and 76 commitments worth US$20.5 billion for their second best Dubai show ever. Added to 1,372 gross orders at the end of October, Airbus now has 1,507 firm orders for the year.

ALAFCO Aviation Lease and Finance Co. has selected Pratt & Whitney PurePower PW1100G-JM engines to power its order of 50 firm A320neo family aircraft. Deliveries are scheduled to start in 2017.
