was this not the A310 that had continuous technical problems? And was it not the airplane with some specific features, also different engines, which would make it very unattractive to send to Dresden for a cargo make over ? As far as I remember the problem is with the engines. These are Pratt & Whitney JT9D-7R4E1. Most A310's use PW4000's or GE CF6-80's. Not many A310-222 and -322's were built. Six A310-322's and thirty-two A310-222's were built. And of those, not many are flying. All 6 A310-322's have been scrapped or stored. Of the A310-222 there are still a few flying: 1 with Jordan Aviation, and less then 10 with FedEx.
