Well, I guess it is now official
.
Sad to see another great carrier with a incredible history disappear!
Is Avianca now the oldest South American carrier?

Perhaps
. Can you imagine Brussels Airlines opperating Airbus A318's or Boeing 717's? It seems that there are even some Airbus A330's on the market now
.
No, seriously
. Does anyone know what aircraft Mexcicana actually owned? You can't sell aircraft if they aren't your property
.
Do you see Mexcinana coming back (cfr. Sabena -> SN Brussels Airlines -> Brussels Airlines)?

Re: Mexicana on the edge of bankruptcy?
Hope so .. but as Belgium had only one player in the market,Do you see Mexcinana coming back (cfr. Sabena -> SN Brussels Airlines -> Brussels Airlines)?
Christophe
how would AEROMEXICO react?
Aeromexico is now the only 'big'player left ... ,
maybe they could take over routings, planes cheap and form a new AEROMEXICANA like we saw with
SN/Virgin Express

Hmmm,
all of a sudden 25 A319's and 30 A320's available... I wonder where the next SN birds will come from

Indeed, it wouldn't be a surprise when we'll see some ex-Mexicana aircraft flying in BRU in the future.HighInTheSky wrote:Hmmm,

BTW, their 2 A332's, were they leased? Because when you take in mind that SN wants non-stop routes and TATL services in the future, the A332 could be a possibility. Altough, when I need to be serious, I doubt they will lease two A332's in 2010/2011, altough it would be nice.

Yes, both are leased from CIT Aerospace.MR_Boeing wrote:BTW, their 2 A332's, were they leased?

BTW, N429MX (an A319) has a Belgian history. It was OO-SSN, delivered on 27 July 2001 to Sabena. It was the oldest A319 of Mexicana.
