Hi there, as everything goes well I think ( hope ) to be able to move to my new house at the end of february 2007.
And as from March the 1st I will begin my formation at the nmbs to become a traindriver.
My "depot" will be Brussel South ( or "Midi" ) . Not to be confused with CRL.
So I will be driving with people instead of merchandise. And one of the lines I will drive on will be Brussels-EBBR-Leuven. So when I drive to EBBR I can wear my FO suit
I wonder how many "Luchtzakkers" I will have in "my"train. :)
See you! 8)

And in April 2007, the HSL Zuid is supposed to open to Amsterdam! Under 2 hours to Amsterdam! And Schiphol would be on the line... Any plans for a Schiphol-Zaventem connection?

Congrats Bart, seems to me your 2007 start can't be better!
Anyway I shouldn't complain either, got a lovely little A318 since 5,5 weeks ;)
Hope your training will go smoothly and who knows I will be in the back of your train one day!

Greetz,

Hi all, delivery of my new house will be at the beginning of March, so I hope to move in the half of that month. That means I will be back in "the air". But as from March the 1st I will start my formation to become a traindriver ( engineer for the US members ) and I'll be giving some driving lessons at the same time ( to pay for my new house  )
So I'll have a busy time but I'll try to visit from time to time and upload some drawings too. See you

If everything goes well now, we're moving to our new house on March, 10.
My career as a traindriver starts March the 1st. I'm curious...
See you guys in March! 8)

Latest update... On march the 9th Telenet will be installing wireless internet in my new house. We're moving the day after.
In the mean time I have become a member of the Belgian National Railroad Company NMBS.
The first day I had the change to drive in a simulator. But yesterday when I was driving home in front the traindriver let me drive from Vilvoorde to Mechelen :D . A nice way to start my career 8) As they say... The only difference between a man and a boy is the price of it's toy!
See you...

Great to hear! :D So, what trains do you drive? Are you assigned one particular type that you always drive or do you drive multiple types?

Tomorrow the "big move". I'm already surfing the web now in my new house.
Yesterday I drove an AM96, a great train to drive. I drove it with a mentor from Brussels to Quevy and back against 140 kph (=87 mph ). A strange feeling in the darkness.

A few at least...

Thalys HST. To drive this one, I will have to be in active service for at least 5 years and there's a very looong waiting list.

I already drove both types of trains. Very easy to drive, very reliable, max. speed 100mph

Also drove this combination from EBAW to EBBR. Nice combination to drive with.

Did you find the light switch since then, Bart?
I know, you didn't promise, but a drawing of an aircraft seen from the train cockpit nearing EBBR, would be nice.....
