Hello
thanks for the wishes
Sorry for thinking ambitious , but maybe that's what more people should do these days , maybe some good decisions would be made than. I Was only thinking what it COULD be.
And sorry about the English , hey I'm not perfect , I know that
No hard feelings , can handle some critic.
But indeed I leave it with this , you will not hear me anymore in this topic.
Best regards: Yannick

Why do you say to bruspotter to stop with daydreaming ?!?
All the pioneers in aviation had dreams ! and look where we are today. The main thing is to believe in it. That's what I do every day and that's what we ( people who love this airport ) should do every day !!! And another important word is HOPE.
to Bruspotter: We used to have the big players like BA, Sabena, KLM in the past. And they had a good payloadfactor aswell. Anyways if you want have some more info about it send me a PM or ask me next time when you see me.
to 747man: welcome on luchtzak
Regards Tim

Agreed, Tim - but those were technical dreams. Not for technical reasons, but all the more so for practical-economical-political ones, Deurne airport can imho never become important in regular air service, there's too many well-servicing airports within too easy reach. It is a pity KLM gave up their feeder service, such a thing might have some success again but I doubt it - if there really was any money to be made there, surely someone would come and do so.burner737 wrote:to Jan_Olieslagers:

The LCY service is "het gat in de markt" and my sincere congratulations go to VLM for finding it AND playing up to it. I do love Antwerp Airport, my parent's house was under the 29 left downwind and as a boy I spent every free moment there! Even nowadays you can sometimes see my famous blue van, mostly near the weather station and myself on top - not in this weather though. But we should not cry for the unattainable. Neither is there any need: traffic figures are quite good, compared to other Belgian airports. Antwerp Airport does have its value and can have a great future as a business airport.

Allow me to disagree. There is no relation between an airport's size and its traffic volume. Just as an example, Antwerp EBAW is a lot busier than Liège EBLG, even though the latter is much bigger. Which is the more interesting? That must depend on what you want. For B747's you'll prefer Liège or Ostend, for G/A lovers there's quite a lot to be seen at EBAW. Not to mention the occasional old-timer, mostly SV4's.Strumpf wrote:Antwerp is just a small airport so there are not so many movements.
