so, to prevent the need for air refuelling in normal circumstances, why not get 772LR??

The presidential 747 is not built to carry maximum passenger load and bags like a normal commercial 747...that in itself increases the range.less weight equals greater range. the aerial re-fueling is something that would most likely be used in times of war. the plane supposed to be able to remain in air for as long as the food supplies last......which is still a state secret.
