Is that a huge mountain next to the plane, or is it banked 90 degrees?! :? That must be one hell of an obstacle departure procedure!!! Don't turn right!!! 8O

Rudder is straight so I would assume it is not banking. Besides, Innsbruck is right in the middle between a whole lot of mountains (the Alps). Just look up Innsbruck on Google Images.

COOL!!!!! Love the MD-11s.....We need more interesting jets. 777s, 767s, 757s, 737s, A300s, A310s, A320s, A330s all look so similar.
Real jets either have 3 or 4 engines, preferably at least one at the back. MD-80s (717, MD-90s DC-9s) BAC 1-11s and Caravelles are OK, as they have tail mounted engines.

Indeed, the procedure is to make a 270° turn for a departure towards BRU for example. This due to the terrain in the picture. I'll look up the SID('s) and chart(s) later on this evening if able.

OUCH!!! Some of those SIDS are asking for 400ft./NM!!!! 8O I have never seen anything in my experience over 250ft./NM. I must fly in Europe in my future.

I agree with you VC-10, planes with 3 or 4 engines are much more interesting for me:
