KL643 back on route to JFK
A replacement crew had to be flown to St. John's from JFK and was delayed by poor weather. While waiting for the replacement crew the passengers had been taken to hotels. That should also mean some 24 hr delay for them.
According to sources on Twitter, British Airways BA481 (A321 G-EUXG) Barcelona-Heathrow declared medical emergency. Apparently a medical emergency with the captain.
Story on AvHerald.com: A LOT Boeing 787-800, performing flight LO-6523 from Warsaw to Mauritius, was enroute at FL370 over the Mediterranean Sea when the crew decided to turn around and return to Warsaw due to engine (Trent 1000) vibrations... A replacement Boeing 787-800 departed Warsaw about 4 hours after SP-LRF landed back and is estimated to reach Mauritius with a total delay of about 10 hours.

It's Boeing 787-8 not 787-800
The Aviation Herald always reports 787 incidents as 787-800 787-900.
Same for 747-8, which are reported as 747-800.

There is more in the story. Oman Air blamed the IFE system for being responsible for the smoke in the cabin. Thales, the supplier of that IFE, categorically denied that the system was responsible for the incident.
Then, the pilot said the plane would take off after the stop in Sofia, but later he declared the aircraft unfit to fly and passengers had to spend the night in hotels, with little help from the airlines and its handling agent.
Jet Airways flight 9W234 (Boeing 777-300ER reg. VY-JEV) from Amsterdam to Toronto is diverting to Shannon. (Last year, it would have taken off from Brussels...)
