Relax, its the best airport they said.

1. When someone working for a competitor airline says "a queue of 3 hours", the reality probably is 30 minutes to 1 hour.

2. Brussels Airlines at least has a customer service desk - contrary to some other airlines who think that the legally requirred "airlines must give assistance" just means "call us".

I don't get it why we haven't got websites or apps as Delta has in the US...

When your flight is cancelled or delayed, you go on their website or app and they automatically propose the next available solution, you select it and you have your new boarding pass...

Even better, you have free access to this website or app via wifi on the plane: you can have your new boarding pass even before you land!

Cheers,

Stij

When a flight is cancelled or delayed during morning hours, and when there are 10 other flights to that destination later day, an app could help indeed.

However, for most passengers that were stranded yesterday evening, there was no such alternative flight. Some passengers got a 21st century e-mail on their 21st century smarthone: your flight is cancelled, adverse weather conditions so not our fault, so you must visit our website and choose "refund or rebook".

Other passengers went to a 20th centry service desk, where a living person arranged not only a rebooking at their own choice, but also arranged a hotel stay and gave them a taxi voucher.

the queue was from the new customer service desk, you sure know where that is as an employee, was snaking through the checkin area, all the way around the diamond lifts/staircases, untill the place where starbucks used to be. Minimum 3 hrs!! Unless you were on the desk you wouldn't know

FR167 to Berlin is simply delayed till 1010 this morning and still counting, 12 hours and 40 minutes delay. That's a nice customer service! You can't see the "3 hour" queue in this case ...

Sure. Absolutely. No doubt. Ryanair is known for giving this kind of assistance.

No, seriously: Ryanair has no staff at BRU to provide this kind of service and handling agents are instructed not to talk about passengers rights. So please, don't tell "passengers were put in hotels as far as I know'". You know and I know and everybody knows they were not.

excuse me? I don't care one bit about FR anymore but they actually DO have contracted staff in BRU under the name of SWISSPORT (the same ones who handle most of you employers passengers btw) and they have the legal obligation to inform passengers about their rights. I see how yo try to defend your employer but blatant lies are absolutely disgusting. In fact after checking with my ex-colleagues only one FR flight was affected yesterday which was the flight to Berlin due to crew going out of hours and passengers were put in hotels

What a pathetic reply. I do not work for Brussels Airlines. Repeat: I do not.

Same pathetic reply for Ryanair respecting EU Rule 261/2004. They do not. The only right that Ryanair gives to passengers, is to book a hotel themselves and send an email to Dublin later, asking for a refund. Begging for a refund.

Actually, the flight was cancelled yesterday evening. The delay was only announced this morning.

wheter it was cancelled or not, passengers were provided with hotels from the moment they got of the plane. Wheter you find it a pathetic answer doesnt matter either. ALL airlines use handling agents in airports around the world. Ryanair like all other european airlines follow your precious EU rules too ;)

You lie about everything else, so I don't really believe you about your employer either ;) You do not always have to work for someone to be affiliated with them by the way ;) But again, only affiliations that share your point of view have the right to speak no?

The DL flight of today saturday June 25th to JFK is in reality a ATL flight via JFK as the BRU website is showing.
And I guess BRU is linked now directly with ATL with DL flight 43 via JFK during the summer. Hope they will change the old one 767.

And again, a total power failure at the Brussels Airport terminal is causing delays for outgoing flights.

Let's not exaggerate this, bagage handling system was down for about an hour (had to be processed manually), as well as flight information. But indeed, what's going to happen next week?

2016 is turning out to be a real 'annus horribilis' for Zaventem airport.
