700 jobs threatened at Brussels Airlines?

Re: 700 jobs threatened at Brussels Airlines?
I'm afraid that although the plan will probably be perfectly legal, FR will do everything in its power to delay the implementation of this plan by legal means.
Re: 700 jobs threatened at Brussels Airlines?
Do they have to do it ?
I always beleive it's a different market with different clients. The competition between those 2 is a fantasy to explain the problems.

Or you open a new topic, or you complain directly to BruAir itslf, but keep your personal feeling outside this topic pease!Acid-drop wrote: The real problem of Brussels airlines is that it's a crappy airline !!
Almost every airline i've done in europe is better. Recently, I was impressed by Austrian and Czeck ... why would you even fly Bruair...
From London to Brussels, I had to take a f**** bus while the BA flight next to us had a airbridge. BruAir in BRU !! WTF !
They treat us like dogs. The service is bad, the planes are old.
I avoid flying BruAir as much as I can (in europe)
I actually find the article in De Morgen badly written, actually nothing new, exct now CRL has to start worrying aswell, BOO, everybody scared now!

The move of at least part of Ryanair's traffic to Brussels would not be a bad thing for the travellers.sn26567 wrote: Also for Charleroi Airport, the consequences would be heavy if Brussels Airlines does not survive.
"It is possible that Ryanair would move from Charleroi to Brussels", the government estimates.
P.S.
Mister Gustin so much wanted to get rid of Ryanair, it seems that it could well be the other way round ...

IF IT AIN'T BOEING, I'M NOT GOING.

Re: 700 jobs threatened at Brussels Airlines?
Everybody has his opinion, but come on... The examples you give? I think Brussels Airlines has just changed there old Boeing's in newer Airbuses. For example you think that BA don't have older planes in there fleet, are they a crappy airline now? I had to take a f**** bus in Dubai with Emirates are they a crappy airline now? And please i now airlines who has a service that is worse than Brusssels Airlines, but ok everybody has his own experience...Acid-drop wrote:it possible that you die from a storm strike or a meteorit."It is possible that Ryanair would move from Charleroi to Brussels"
This scenario makes no sense unless BRU agrees to adapt very deeply their charges.
It's just a fog machine for the people of CRL : "agree our plan, it's safer for you".
The real problem of Brussels airlines is that it's a crappy airline !!

It is weird that you add such a comment in this topic, i read some frustration... But ok that is my opinion!!

what is this stupid smiley about??? you find it funny that 10000 people could loose their jobs?airazurxtror wrote:The move of at least part of Ryanair's traffic to Brussels would not be a bad thing for the travellers.

And where it is written that Brussels Airlines wants Ryanair gone.
Maybe you should step down your Ryanair cloud and face reality !
Re: 700 jobs threatened at Brussels Airlines?
Guys, I suggest you keep it calm and polite or take it private.
No further news for the moment. All newspapers seem to write exactly the same text on the subject.

Good to see neutral mod in action again, keeping the peace and quiet in the middle, and not stirring this post up... *ugh ugh... Got a point about BRU lowering their fees/taxes tho, every bit counts. The real problem of Brussels airlines is that it's a crappy airline !!

Today on "De Standaard" something about Bernard Gustin/Brussels Airlines. Key points:
(...)
- they still ask to get rid of the RYR disadvantage, they don't ask for an exeption for themself, they want to get rid of "the exeption" (RYR).

Re: 700 jobs threatened at Brussels Airlines?
And where do you see SN wants RYR gone? They say they want the exception gone which makes it still possible for RYR to register their staff in Ireland instead of the MUCH more expensive Belgium. Thanks to new EU rules this is only different for new staff, but the rest will stay like this for another 10 years.airazurxtror wrote:

SN just wants all airlines in Belgium have to pay the exact same. And that's their good right, I believe. I don't think there is a valid reason why RYR should pay less in the same country as JAF, HQ, SN do.

Re: 700 jobs threatened at Brussels Airlines?
Mr_Boeing,
Don't try logics with airazurxtror, please! He has one God and it is MOL and anything He and Ryanair do is holy, hence not to subject to criticism nor even questionnable.

Re: 700 jobs threatened at Brussels Airlines?
I don't know where the article in De Morgen comes from all of a sudden. Anyway it's bad publicity days after tcb announced they'll start to operate regular flights.

Re: 700 jobs threatened at Brussels Airlines?
Frustration ? you think ? Obviously i'm very frustrated that the main airlines in my country is not exactly what i expect. It make me very disapointed and very sad. But i stopped defending them. It not a good airlines, and i believe it will die some day. This extra money will probably make no real difference. The mgmt is certainly the main issue, as many people on this forum seem to all agree. Bad for the workers, again. Sad story. It is weird that you add such a comment in this topic, i read some frustration... But ok that is my opinion!!

Ah! the famous "level playing field" ? Same social security, same taxes, same regulations as edicted by the Europen Commission, for all airlines landing in Belgium and their personnel ?MR_Boeing wrote: SN just wants all airlines in Belgium have to pay the exact same. Tell that to the Persian Gulf airlines, to the Indian, Turkish, Chinese and even the American ones.

Re: 700 jobs threatened at Brussels Airlines?
As CEO of a company in the airline industry, it is his duty to fight for a 'level playing field'. If he wouldn't argue for it, he wouldn't be doing his job, right?airazurxtror wrote:MR_Boeing wrote: Ah! the famous "level playing field" ? Btw, airazuxtror: for all airlines landing in Belgium? Did SN say that? We are talking about airlines operating out of a Belgian basis and it's not like RYR is a small one...

Re: 700 jobs threatened at Brussels Airlines?
Now that they are about to get the best part of 30.000.000 euros per year from the Government, it is to be hoped that they will have the decency not criticize any more the Ryanair "subsidies".

Re: 700 jobs threatened at Brussels Airlines?
Seems that the Airline who has been screaming/shouting/fighting against so-called state aid is now holding it's pockets wide open for the exact same thing?!
LMAO, where are you all now with your arguments against the unjust use of taxmoney? Strange how people can very quickly "hun kar keren" as we say in dutch
