Maybe an update but it says they diverted to TLS iso BOD in the end...

BEL453 BRU-BJM turned back over Tyrrhenian Sea on 27/4/14 and is now in a holding pattern at FL80 near BRU (I think KERKY).

CSTKP 100% diverted to TLS
A/C is still in TLS

Any idea why the United flight to EWR was cancelled today (April 27)?

Is there somdody who nows why the flight of Luanda and Kinshasa is canceld?
We had a very very hard descent to Luanda!!!
Some passengers and crew where injured.

Not really it was al small injuries we went off the planes and looks like they where flying normally to FIH.

Accident: Brussels A333 near Luanda on Apr 27th 2014, clear air turbulence injures 8

A Brussels Airline Airbus A330-300, registration OO-SFN performing flight SN-359 from Brussels (Belgium) to Luanda (Angola), was enroute near Luanda when the aircraft was deviating around weather, however, encountered severe clear air turbulence causing minor injuries to four passengers and 4 cabin crew. The aircraft continued to Luanda for a safe landing.

A post flight inspection also revealed damage to the nose cone of the aircraft.

The airline confirmed the aircraft was deviating around weather when it encountered clear air turbulence causing injuries, mainly bruises, to four passengers and four cabin crew. The aircraft also sustained minor damage to the nose cone. The aircraft is not able to continue the flight to its ultimate destination Kinshasa (Democratic Republic of Congo). A replacement aircraft is estimated to continue the flight to Kinshasa the following day.


Replacement aircraft: OO-SFW positioned to LAD as SN1357

Like they say on that site, very strange to have a problem on the radome with clear air turbulence.
Sounds like lightning strike or hail damage...

No it was not lightning the pilot told us that the bad weather did not show on the radar!

Hail often doesn't show up on the weather radar either, so it could've been a combination of hail and CAT (clear air turbulence).
