Cargo tonnage for JAN-MAY 2009: 177,189 tons
(2008 : 232,8 tons - it means 23% decrease)

They are not good result, but it's better than other surrounding airport, it seems
If you got the stats of others, i'm interested, it's not so easy to find them

tonnage JAN-JUN : 213.609 tons
decrease of 22% but they started the year with -27%, so it's getting slightly better.

I guess LGG is confirmed as #1 cargo airport in Belgium, we'll have to wait the stats of BRU to be sure.

Another important news :
The THAI CARGO team also investigated the readiness of Frankfurt Hahn Airport and Liege Airport for the possibility that 2 airports can be hubs for Europe and Africa for the freighter services of THAI in the near future.

Let's hope LGG wins !!

Good news keep coming from Liège airport
this time, Carex, the Freight TGV.
It's moving a lot and is still planned for 2013
http://www.lalibre.be/economie/actualit ... vance.html

By this time I guess LGG could be in the top5 like the other airports of the carex project : cdg, lhr, ams

From an aviation point of view, it certainly seems so: Liege airport badly needs the terrain for its expansion, allowing the creation of new jobs. The current 750 military staff will not be sacked, mind you, they will "only" have to relocate.

Which is...? For your info, the ops at Bierset will be moved to Beauchevain, in... Wallonia. So what's the problem?

Finally somebody who is going to take necessary messures with the army, after the big useless spender who's name is Flahaut...
