Any idea about the STA and STD in BRU?

Is the AC BRU-YUL-BRU really a daily flight? I tried to book it for 16/10/2010 and return 23/10/2010 but only the outbound flight is displayed as a non stop flight on AC's website. Return is via LHR, FRA, MUC or ZRH.

Anyone who can help? :?:

When looking into Amadeus timetable I get the following message:

"The requested departure date is to late. Valid dates are -12 hours from now through the next 10 months. Please modify your dates and try again."

And it seems indeed that it will go to 6x weekly starting from Oct 2010 (at least for now):

Well, it seems like BRU is going to do pretty good long haul...

North-America:
******************
BRU-EWR - Continental - B772 (probably since summer season)
BRU-EWR - Jet Airways - B77W (?)
BRU-IAD - United - B763
BRU-ORD - United - B763
BRU - ORD - American - B763
BRU - YUL - Air Canada - B763
BRU - YYZ - Jet Airways - A332
BRU-JFK - Jet Airways - A332
BRU-JFK - American - B752
BRU-JFK - Delta - B763
BRU - ATL - Delta - B763

Asia:
******
BRU-DEL - Jet Airways - B77W
BRU-BOM - Jet Airways - A332
BRU-MMA - Jet Airways - A332
BRU-PEK - Hainan - A332
BRU-PVG - Hainan - A332

And then we have Africa of course, with SN's network and some other African carriers flying to BRU...

Thanks Bralo20!

I booked the outbound flight BRU-YUL and inbound via FRA on the 77W.

Looking forward to flying the 77W in C class!

Without the economical crisis, ANA would already anounced flights to BRU. They did multiple examinations in BRU for a non-stop route and that was very succesfull. They are already thinking for years to fly to BRU. But now 1 big problem, the crisis. Wait and see, I am pritty sure that ANA will start a non-stop service Tokyo, Brussels in 2010 or 2011. Even they fly to FRA, CDG and LHR only, the market in BRU is big for Tokyo. And a lot other *A hubs in Europe has already connections by their home carrier and some non-*A hubs by JAL to Japan, so that is an important reason wy they only fly to FRA, LHR and CDG. Trust me BRU will be the 4th European ANA destination.

The crisis is a factor, SN not being Star and Dreamliner delays are the other factors that kept NH from coming to BRU. Rest assured that NH will fly to BRU, it is just a matter of when, not if.
NH is following the JL situation by the minute... they don't know what to do yet. Japan's market is getting too small for a market increasingly competing against other Asian carriers... Routes to/from China have been a complete disaster in the past year.
In the meanwhile NH has a huge problem to face in the short-term fleet strategy: 30 x B783 on order but Boeing hasn't approached them yet about shifting the order to B788. It's a mind game: whoever asks first, loses. There's no slots to incorporate those B783's into and NH want them ASAP.

NH will replace B763ER by B788 on the longer routes, use the replaced B763ER's to reopen some markets in Asia (India, Indonesia,etc...).
Ideally they would love to fly to BRU with B763ER and BRU-NRT is not an issue in terms of range but NRT-BRU is not possible without a fuel stop. We'll have to wait until NH get at least MXP going again, with LH Italy as a direct feeder they will certainly operate that one as a priority.
In anyways, I would bet on early 2012 because there's still too much going on and a new longhaul route takes time to establish... this is supposing that there are no further delays in the 787 programs and NH delivery schedule.

Easyjet unveiled further details about it's expansion plans for 2010. They will open 36 new routes across Europe. Nu BRU in the plans. Could this have something to do with the - at this moment - no go for the LCT.

BTW Easyjet is starting tomorrow with it's new Brussels - Lyon service.

CDG and AMS are really gonne hate this. Yeasterday the CEO of Continental said to LVN.nl that they hold AMS as destination from both Houston and Newark but AMS really don't need to expect new flights or even upgrades. They will expand on Star hubs and AMS is now not that important anymore like it was before october this year.
I hope LH/SN will upgrade some other German routes to. :P
