BrusselsAirport.be mentions for Airlinair (Hop!) A5-3201 from Brussels to Nantes/Bordeaux (ERJ-145?): departure from BRU at 10h14, return in BRU at 10h37.

One of the headlines from the 19h news from VTM - Flemish commercial television: a go-around for a Corendon 737. Yep, a simple go-around. Take a look at the face of mr. Danny V, VTM's news reader: Danny is clearly aware of his severe task that he has to advise the public that Belgium narrowly escaped to a disaster like San Francisco…

http://nieuws.vtm.be/binnenland/53334-v ... -twee-keer

Poor Bilal Kose (Corendon Airlines): he had to explain that a go-around because of an unstable approach is just... a go-around.

(edited : VLM -> VTM)

I guess you mean VTM (television) and not VLM (airline). ;)

Indeed André, now fixed. I was still shocked that they've survived a go-around, hence my confusion.

Must have been a very quiet day at the VTM news desk for this to make it into the news....

Well done by the spotter who was in the right place at the right moment to **** up an airline image by forwarding the video to all newspapers, tv-stations. We might also want to check HLN tomorrow.

This is already the second time in two weeks time that such a rediculous article appears in the media!

An today another go-around for a lufthansa A319 performing a flight from FRA to BRU. Shall it be in the news again? :D
When in doubt, hold on to your altitude. No-one has ever collided with the sky.

Just a reminder : on Sunday 21 July 2013 between 17h and 18h local, all incoming flights into Brussels will be on hold because of military activities at BRU Melsbroek military airport.

Anyone any idea what's going on with this Turkish airlines.
I saw it passing by 9 times before leaving again towards Germany.
It seems it didn't get permission to land in Brussels although this was its destination.
Snowden on board ? ;)

TK 1931 is now enroute from CGN to BRU. ET 704 had to divert to the North Sea before heading to BRU :?:

Interesting that not only THY1931 was held, but the Syphax SYA 5276 held over Antwerp (after an overshoot) at the same time as the THY
In the mean time lots of other flights came in and landed.
The THY did divert to Cologne, but the SYA was able to land at Brussels

Perhaps because of the instable weather above the North of France ?

TK1931 was initially certainly not diverted to Cologne due to bad weather. Many other planes that followed the same route landed while this one on hold. It also wasn't extremely busy at BRU at that moment.

Yes, that's certainly the reason. ;)

Thank you, Koen!

This Wx soon after affected BRU as all Gnd Ops ceased due to Lightning Procedure. Earlier than anticipated.
Been seating in a FlyBe can for two hours until it cleared. Boarding was completed (in the dry) at 0930lt with an ETD of 0940 but we have been held till 1140 for a take off at 1150. The ATIS went the whole alphabet within 70 minutes with winds up to 36kts and forecast of up to 45kts gusting.
Some flights did land but had then to wait for the Gnd Handlers to be allowed to proceed.

BTW, this BRU-HAM flight was packed at +95% LF, though we were only 3 in C.
I had never experienced FlyBe but nice impression. Good chat with the Captain (had lots of time for that...) and a very smiling cc.
OK, Q400 bit noisy and I had to share my coffee with my shirt but that's what I like props for. ;)

Cheers.

Arrived today from Munich, the flight (LH2284) had to avoid the weather but landed about 20 minutes later.
But due Lightning Procudre all Gnd Ops ceased and we were waiting in the aircraft before the airbridge was attached to the plane.
After that we had to wait 2 hours at the bagageclaim to get our lugages but still one missing!
It was very busy at the bagageclaim!
