No way! That is just plane wrong! If it had been me would haver probably stayed quiet! And if i had had the guts would have even defended her or even better cuddle her knowing that I had plenty of time anyway! :?

Time to introduce some rules against bad behaviour! :!:

very sad indeed.
imagine, there goes your holiday.
airport staff has to take the load. The managers are gone out of touch. It is time that they take the cost to lodge the passengers off the bonus of the people who decide to use this airplane.

Flywim,

Your experience goes back to 14 aug 2004 when VLM Airlines and Titan Airways were the helping hands of Thomas Cook Airlines

Btw OO-TUC never left on Dec 6, it was CS-TLO.

No doubt Mr Brackx will get the "cost saving measure" award of the year when he acquired OO-STUC at a "reasonable" price !

Just very sad for the poor clients and the crew and ground staff who have to face customers and give explanations for this s***.

As a good travel agent we have definitely decided to sell Thomas Cook iso Jetair on the long haul destinations. Martinair is clearly offering a better service and a on time schedule...

Stop playing with the customers....

flywim wrote:Two years ago I had the same situation with an FQ A320 to Reus,
plane had engine troubles and after a 5 hour delay, flight was
cancelled!! I had to transfer all 180 pax on other flights:
* some 25 pax on the TUB flight to Reus
* 50pax on a chartered F50 of VLM
* some 65 pax on the VY flight to BCN with bustransfer to REU
* the remaining 40 pax on a chartered ERJ-145 of a British Company
(don't know anymore which one)
I had to make decisions which pax on which flight, not easy!!!!
When I got home after a 14 hour day of work (04h00-18h00),
I was pissed off and couldn't stand any noise!!

On the one hand I understand those pax, because such news is not
very pleasant to hear, certainly not when you save the money for
vacation and suddenly you loose one day, but as you said, the staff
can't help it, it's not our fault that a plane goes technical !!
But the ground staff is already the first one where pax can react to, and
blown some steam off;
I guess that's part of our job
Thanks for interesting report of your personal experience and congratulations for your handling of a difficult situation.

TUB8371 Scheduled 11:25 is still on biac.be with no further info...

Will OO-TUC do the job, or are they waiting for CS-TLO to return (delayed 16:05) or do they have to find a second replacement a/c...

Poor pax, and also poor crew and ground-staff

How can you say that? I think instead that they are playing it safe, grounding an aircraft for technical reasons is indeed a safety measure that will save the lives of passengers.

I agree with André. A couple of months ago, there was a lot of fuss about airlines taking risks with safety and taking off even with minor or major technical problems. Now, what happened was very annoying for the passengers indeed, but proves on the other hand that no risks are taken for the passengers and that problems are solved before take-off. Ask the passengers what they would prefer...

Let's be careful with such quotes. Belgian Newspaper Laatste Nieuws today :
(quote) "Fernand Van Hoorick (with picture) : Jetair zet mensenlevens op het spel met dat oude wrak" (unquote)
(Jetair plays with the lives of people with this old wreck).
First impression for the readers is that this FVH is an aviation specialist. But when reading the article, it happens to be one of the (comprehensively) frustrated passengers. OK, I understand he reacts emotionally, but does he also react with knowledge of facts ?

OK, but tour-operators like JetAir are usually the very first to demand the money at the time (or almost) of the booking. Such holdays are also the least flexible packages iso of self-booking for example.

At this sight, all the customers can expect is an impeccable execution of their order/booking.
- A safe/reliable/punctual and comfortable transportation.
- Hotels and other included services as described in the brochure.

It's time for companies like TUI to stop taking people for poor paying idiots.
This bad publicity (even if sometimes exagerated) is well desrved for the image of TUI.

Just my opinion.
