I actually do not quite agree with the idea that 342/342 are so much unattractive. somehow there must be reason (which I dont know) for eg. Olympic or Swiss to have them in their fleet rather than a 777. I guess it is pretty much like flyingblueboy said: for each plane has some perfect fit for some airlines. Reminds me of the A300-600 about which I have read that Lufthansa would love to have a successor for. Could it be that the price (for buying them) represents another point?

I Think the will... specially the boeing oriented..
then also depends how the A380 will perform and if the schedule will be respected..
CX, BA, KL but maybe QF, SIA, some of the americans.. once they workout where to find the money...
Specially in the busy airports will be a good option and easier to accomodate without airports upgrades necessary...
