Let's end the discussion and focus on Brussels Airlines again
Well, there is an interesting new fact indeed - which I have already mentionned a few days ago: the Brussels Airlines nv/sa annual account 2017 has been published. If president Trump would comment on it, he would say: "it's not good. It's bad. It's very bad".
This is what I wrote about it: an operational profit of 3,92m € but a final loss of 61,87m €. Mainly due to the repayment of government aid (40,1m), increasing costs of the 22/03/2016 terror attack to 76m and insurers refuse to cover all of it) and the integration of Thomas Cook Airlines Belgium.
If there is someone, would a short summary (although we can take a guess by the title the contract with CityJet seems to be ending) be possible to be written?

Thanks!
Without a ch-aviation subscription, but from another source:
Brussels Airlines hopes to phase out the four SSJ100s wet-leased from CityJet (Ireland) ahead of the March 2019 expiration date, as the Belgian carrier is not satisfied with the availability of the aircraft overall. Capacity will be made up with other CityJet aircraft, with another partner, or with their own aircraft.

According to this article on De Tijd (in dutch);
Brussels Airlines weighs on Lufthansa results.
Summary: Interruption due to extreme weather and strikes such as at Brussels Airlines weighed on the results of Lufthansa in the second quarter, according to the half-year figures.
The division with Eurowings and Brussels Airlines saw a fall of the operating profit by 92,7 percent to 55 million EUR in the second quarter.
The main objective for Eurowings (including Brussels Airlines) is to increase profitability to the level of the main competitors in the coming years, following the significant capacity expansion.

Which significant capacity expansion for Brussels Airlines???
They mean expansion for Eurowings after taking over Air Berlin
Actually, with "Eurowings", Lufthansa's CFO referred to the Eurowings Group. De Tijd initially called them "the division with Eurowings and Brussels Airlines".
According to this article on Hln.be (in dutch);
185 passengers of Brussels Airlines are stuck for already two days on Tenerife.
Summary: The flight was cancelled after the aircraft's tires were damaged during take-off by FOD. Today a new flight was planned but after several hours it became clear the repair would take more time and passengers would have to stay another night.
Passengers complain about lack of information and conditions.
Brussels Airlines regrets that the communication went so badly as they have no staff present and depend on the local handling agency.

I have questions now that Brussels Airlines becomes eurowings.
What with the frequent flyer programme?
What in case of canceled flight, still rerouted on other airlines?
Will the customer handling will be of the same quality ?
I have heard stories that eurowings are struggeling with delays and cancelations? Correct?
Well EW has it's own frequent flyer program Boomerang so it might happen Boomerang will replace Loop in the future
They'll still reroute you on other airliners, the LH group to get you as quick as possible at your final destination
they do have a lot of delays and cancellations at the moment, also due to the same problem as SN and many others have which are the ATC slots and technical like SN has with their Sukhois from Cityjet EW has some technical problems too since they have LGW operating for them too
That's not exact what I read in several EW stories...
They reroute you but only on EW flights not via LH,LX flights or others....
Boomerang exist indeed, but FF programs are a joke anyway nowadays if not pro.
In fact EW is just another Ryanair,Easyjet....
Hope SN can extend being SN for a time...
I'll pass for EW ,...
If you want some better options in case of... And want to spend a bit more... Book LH of LX through FRA,ZRH,MUC..
But it won't certainly NOT better from now for thé belgian flyer..
Like Hungary stuck with only 1 big LCC !!!!
CXB
out of Germany indeed they rebook you on later EW flights .. but once the SN European network is implemented I wish them good luck in rerouting on EW only ... isn't there a sort of European Law which prevents endless connecting flights to arrive at your destination ?
