DannyVDB wrote:Hi,

Discussion on airliners.net continues on jet Airways. Now there is a thread on what is the next step when the A332 will come in next year. This is one of the ideas ...

What i hear from my sources is that IAH and SFO and even Montreal/Vancouver[YUL/YYR] are on top priority .
Especially Montreal/Vancouver which they hope to serve from CDG .
I dont have any idea of the transit stations for IAH and SFO but by the looks of it it will probably be LHR or another uncovered city like BRU

and another

YYR--quite a decent north indian community present
YUL over YYZ--actually i was pretty surprised when i heard that myself but thats a job for the 9W management to decide---maybe they target pax from CDG-YUL, which i hear is pretty strong in numbers
But as you suggest even i feel they should look at YYZ.
Eventually like AI at FRA they want to build up one Hub in the EU---CDG or LHR orAMS or even BRU---??????

What do you think about these ideas? It all makes sence, we only can hope that they would make a choice for BRU as a small hub.

Danny
Indeed Danny it makes sense to me also ...
CDG, LHR, AMS are so very much congestioned...
BRU on the other hand offers interesting potential provided some steps are taken to push it more aggressively forward .
Effective rail integration to Paris, Amsterdam, London and Koln would be very welcome.(current project should be accelerated)
Airport costs reduction could help make the decisive difference
A close integration of operations with snba should be part of the deal...

Yes a lot more "aggressiveness" and coordination will be needed if we want to give BRU airport the development it is so badly looking for.

A minihub in Brussels would sound like an excellent idea. In the same way as AA had a minihub in BRU when it inaugurated its first flights to Brussels with ORD-BRU-DUS and JFK-BRU-MUC, with the schedules providing for an easy connection in BRU.

Here is an interesting article:
 http://in.rediff.com/money/2005/may/27flight.htm
So can we expect more flights to/from India in the future?

Very interested indeed. It's very good news to hear that there is still some movement to explore the airport.

But first wait and see: I belief it when I saw the first indian carrier at Brussels. Look for example at Hainan. The government said everything is ok, Hainan is coming to Brussels. Final decision in May. I have my doubts.

However with the new aviation treaties Jet Airways can also opt for AMS lor CDG as their transfer point (which they couldn't do previously). If CDG and AMS are back in the run ning, I fear for the worst for BRU (which wasn't Jet Airways first choice).

BTW
Under the MoU with the Netherlands, which updates the air services agreement of January 1992, India has granted Belgian carriers the right to operate to Hyderabad or Chennai besides the existing rights to operate to Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai.[
I hope this is a typing error as I doubt India has granted Belgian carriers the right to fly between The Netherlands and India

Goodevening,
Atlantis, do not doubt the answer from Brubiac. When he says yes, it is yes. Maybe extra info can't be given for the moment in order not to let a message being spread around before official confirmation.

You can look at two different sites: www.jetairways.com At fleet information you can see what aircraft they use. But this is not update for some time, no mentioning of the Airbus 340 fleet.

Second: You can go to the site Airfleets. When you give in Jat Airways you received the whole list of aircrafts they use at this moment: Airbus 340, ATR42/72, Boeing 737 and Boeing 737NG. By all these types you can see the registration and the MSN number, after you give in a regisration number.

Good look. If you need futher info, give me a call.

Thanks, Atlantis. But if I would type Jat Airways I would get totally different
information I am looking for...because Jat Airways is from from Yugoslavia

You only wrote "Airfleets." - is it Airfleets.net ? If so, there is no Jet Airways
listed...I think I have to wait until Jet Airways becomes more popular...

Hey A380-800

It's not Jat Airways, but www.Jetairways.com.
For Airfleets it's indeed www.airfleets.net. I give you today all the info you need.

Jet Airways currently operates with a fleet of 44 Aircraft, 36 Boeing 737`s and 8 ATR`s. The average age of the fleet is a little over 4.6 years, which is one of the youngest aircraft fleet in the world.

I would suggest you to go to the APEX site of Aviation in INDIA, aka the DGCA on www.dgca.nic.in

Go to the Operators link and click on Scheduled and you shall get all the carriers which are currently operating with their flying machines.

Alternatively you can click on http://www.dgca.nic.in/operator/sch-ind.htm

Hope that helps

If CDG and AMS are back in the run ning, I fear for the worst for BRU (which wasn't Jet Airways first choice).
According to the AMS slot update as of 27 May 2005 Jet Airways has requested and received the necessary slots for a daily BOM-AMS-EWR-AMS-BOM. Needless to say this doesn't mean that they'll opt for AMS but now every option is open.

BTW flightnumbers should be 9W4401/2
So can we expect more flights to/from India in the future?
Can only be American Airlines who is rumoured to be close to announcing a daily BRU-BOM-BRU flight which should begin as of Winter 2005/2006. They recently reduced flights to ZRH and thus have the necessary aircraft available. Moreover given the new aviation treaty SNBA will be able to codeshare on this flight thus essentially making BRU a hub.

BTW two of the signatories are Air India employees thus one can also speculate about them (though they're probably more interested in a codeshare via FRA).
