Singapore low-cost airline Tiger Airways said on Monday it was reviewing its business model after December's tsunami devastated parts of the Thai resort island Phuket, one of its key destinations.

For some people money only matters. Sigh.
Aum Sweet Aum.

Sweden, Denmark and Norway got a bill of 28 million Swedish kronor (28 million Swedish Krona = 3.075million Euro / USD$4 million) this mweek from SAS for extra flights to rescue Nordic citizens caught up in the Asian tsunami disaster.

The bill is for 23 extra flights, 28-23 = 133.670 Euro
SAS usually flies A340 to BKK., so they charged about 450 Euro RT/seat full or empty..

Pretty wet.... :o

Even the AN-225 Mriya 'Cossack' visited the area for a air-aid mission.

Best regards: Yannick ;)

Tonights events remind me of this:

ON-SITE COORDINATING CENTRE - TSUNAMI RELIEF TEAMS ( CARGO )

This is a list of 184 flight that flew relief equipment.

Note, by the way they write the origins of tone can immediately see experst were at work!

AMSTADAM? UTAPAWA-UTAPAWO (UTP- Utapao?), KASAKASSTHAN? KARACHCHI? BAHARAIN? SEECHELS-ZESHEL? USA(MIUAMI)? Usbakistan? Molta? Landon? Malasia? Balgaria? Germoney? Greeze? Viana? Bancock?

One aircraft even had "Tarpulings" on board. An other "TAR POLITHIN".... Tarpaulin(s) maybe?
No wonder that coordination is a problem, when you have such staff.

Note this UNDP! And do not forget what the salary of UNDP staff is: this United Nations' tariff. And the guy/girl on the computer is not a 'simple' salary.
At least now you know where your donations went.
