Ah, ok.
Got another question, what Robin Bamps already mentioned.
Between 13:00 and 13:30 tomorrow there are no arrival-flights sheduled.
This could be normal, altough i looked at the timetable that there would be a flight operated by Iberia at 13:10 (arrival) that isn't sheduled. If it would be cancelled, biac would mention that.
Opinions?

This is what I heard late this evening from collegues: according to them no vehicle (push back trucs, catering trucks or any other vehicles) would be allowed to move at the moment AF1 is coming in to Bru. So this means that the airport will be at full stop during landing and only security vehicles will be driving around.

Hi guys,
Need some help. Unless something goes wrong, I'll go to the airport tonight to see AF1 landing.
Now, since I won't be bringing my ATC scanner with me this time (they just might blow up your car for that if they must...) I was wondering if anybody, who has access to ATC (via radio scanner or whatever) could send me a small SMS as soon as they have been given a RWY tonight. If you send me your bank account number I'll repay you of course. Send an email to apuneger@hotmail.com and I'll give you my mobile number.
Thanks in advance,
Greets,
Ivan

not so sure about a take-off from 25L
may I remind you that 25L take-offs have to backtrack ... not a very fast way to do an emergency take-off
anyway.... airspace is restricted as from 1900LT (NOTAM)
From : 20/02/2005 19:00 Until : 23/02/2005 09:00
Text : THE AREA WITH A RADIUS OF 30NM CENTERED OVER THE ARP OF EBBR FROM GROUND TILL FL195 AND WITHIN THE BRUSSELS FIR WILL BE AIRSPACE CLASS C ALL ACTF ENTERING OR EXITING THIS AREA MUST BE ON AN ACTIVE IFR OR VFR FPL WITH TRANSPONDER CODE. ALL ACTF ENTERING OR EXITING THIS ARE MUST REMAIN AT ALL TIMES IN TWO-WAY RADIO COMMUNICATION WITH ATC. THE FOLLOWING FLIGHTS ARE NOT PERMITTED IN THIS 30 NM RADIUS. 1.AEROBATIC FLT 2.GLIDER FLT 3.PARADROP,MIL DROPPINGS EXCLUDED 4.ULM FLT 5.MANNED FREE BALLOON FLT
Lower limit : GND Upper limit : FL195
so if you were planning a nice VFR flight..... you are warned...
btw... 30nm radius is huge... from the dutch border in the north to Charleroi in the south
Kleine Brogel is also active the same period it seems...
btw..... nice timing to arrive - sunday evening is one of the busiest departure times at Brussels... this will give huge delays tomorrow evening

The ETA is the one and only official one. So if they're arriving on time, there will be a sudden cut in movements from about 15 minutes before arrival, till 15 minutes after touch-down.slipsnifter wrote:The ETA you give is probably right, but the runway (as far as I know for the moment) will be 25 L. According to weather conditions of course.
About the runway, you're right, it can be any runway considering meteo, last decisions,... But the official destination is MELSBROEK, so normally traffic to MELSBROEK is coming in on 25R.

Thats absolutely right, but according to my source they will try to land on 25L and take taxiways C2 or C4 - E1 - I10. That's the fastest way to the apron.Rago wrote: About the runway, you're right, it can be any runway considering meteo, last decisions,... But we have to wait for the weather and his arrival to be shure.

lol.... C2 ???
yeah right.... braking action... extremely good
btw... C2 to C4 and C4 to E1 normally not done
C4 - E3 to inners or outers
C2 - Whiskey - F3 or F5
C4 with a bit of luck but it's still a very heavy B747-200 .... much heavier than a normal one...
so it would be C5 or vacate at the end and OUTER-11
anyway...
have you ever seen the A1 doc on National Geo?
aprox 1 hour/30mins before landing the "man in black" inspect the taxi route and put a lot of ducktape markings on the apron....
that should give you a hint on were to expect them...
on the Departures (BIAC site) there is a gap between 21:05 and 21:40 ...
