It had left BRU more than 2.5 hours late anyway!Homo Aeroportus wrote: ↑03 Sep 2021, 14:11 OO-SFD operating SN277 to ACC is returning to BRU after about 1 hour in the flight when near Limoges.

A crew member didn't feel well and the captain decided to return to Brussels. Afterwards, the flight could almost immediately take off again to Lomé and Accra.sn26567 wrote: ↑03 Sep 2021, 16:38OO-SFD took off again at 16:05.Homo Aeroportus wrote: ↑03 Sep 2021, 14:11 OO-SFD operating SN277 to ACC is returning to BRU after about 1 hour in the flight when near Limoges.

Yesterday night, Manchester Airport was forced to suspend operations for a while due to a lack of fire service cover. A Brussels Airlines flight (SN2183 operated by A319 OO-SSQ) had to circle some time before being allowed to land.

Very unusual indeed. It would be interesting to know the reason for aborting the landing. Wrong altitude?

Me thinks: when you do a replay of their final approach on FR24.com, that shows that they had 187 kts at 750 ft. After their circling, they had 144 kts at 750 ft.

TUIfly Boeing 737 MAX 8 OO-MAX has been stuck for 13 hours in Heraklion yesterday. Instead of departing at 11:45, it took off only at 00:47 this morning to operate flight TB2252 to BRU. Any idea of what happened?

Ok but normally they do a straight go around I presume. I don’t know the pax on board but they must have been frightened by the short turn. I live nearby and never saw a plane do this manoeuvre.
Re: Anomalies in BRU-ANR-CRL-LGG-OST in 2021
If traffic permits, this is perfectly possible and more (fuel+time) efficient than a standard go-around.
It's only a smooth 360, although passengers don't see that very often, I can't see why they would be "frightened".
Re: Anomalies in BRU-ANR-CRL-LGG-OST in 2021
Indeed. There isn't time so close to the runway to do this at the last minute, it was likely a planned 360, probably to ensure sufficient spacing with the aircraft ahead, landing or taking off.
Re: Anomalies in BRU-ANR-CRL-LGG-OST in 2021
If it had been requested by ATC to ensure sufficient spacing, that was definitely *not* planned and could also have happened at the "last minute".
In this case, it was clearly a corrective action to be stable (= on speed, on profile, configured for landing, etc). Nothing dramatic, nothing abnormal, just something you don't see very often in BRU.

Re: Anomalies in BRU-ANR-CRL-LGG-OST in 2021
Sorry for question...How to explain if there is fog that flight UA 999 is diverted to FRA and at the same T time flight UA 950 could land at BRU ?

Or a technical reason to prevent the aircraft from being CAT3 qualified (could be something stupid as a windshield wiper inop). Or something else completely, there are many reasons why seemingly similar flights are sometimes operated completely different.
