One from yesterday, rather unexpected: Rwandair Flight WB300 to Dubai (their brand new A330-200 reg. 9XR-WN) has been diverted to Muscat due to bad weather at Dubai Airports. Four hours later (this morning) it could take off gain and bring its passengers to destination.

Asiana Airlines flight OZ521, Seoul-London, Boeing 777-200ER reg. HL8284, diverted to Khanty-Mansiysk (Where? In Siberia!) with a mechanical issue.

The crew received an engine (PW4090) fire indication, shut the engine down, activated the engine fire suppression, drifted down to FL150 and diverted to Khanty-Mansiysk.

The aircraft is still on the ground in Khanty-Mansiysk about 9 hours after landing.

The local ministry of emergency situations reported a visual inspection did not reveal evidence of heat or fire. The passengers were taken to a hotel to await the arrival of a replacement aircraft in the morning of Dec 6th.

KLM flight KL1385 from Amsterdam to Kiev (B737-700 reg. PH-BGG) diverted to Warsaw because of fog at destination.

Air Canada flight AC847, Munich-Toronto (B777-300ER reg. C-FRAM), is diverting to Dublin due to medical emergency.

An Austrian Airlines de Havilland Dash 8-400, registration OE-LGI performing flight OS-472 from Basel (Switzerland) to Vienna (Austria) with 74 passengers and 4 crew, was enroute at FL230 about 20nm west of Salzburg (Austria) when the crew requested to divert to Salzburg reporting "single engine operation" (engine PW150A). The aircraft landed safely on Salzburg's runway 15 about 15 minutes later.

a Korean Air 747-400F from Stockholm to Seoul diverted to Amsterdam after an engine failed whilst above Russia. The initial routing was Amsterdam-Stockholm-Seoul.

Last night's Lufthansa flight LH441 from Houston to Frankfurt (A380-800 reg. D-AIMK) diverted to JFK due to a threat made by phone against the aircraft. Passengers had to disembark and the entire plane and baggage was searched by K9 unit of police. The aircraft is still in New York.
