2 additional frequencies to D.R.C. for Brussels Airlines

Re: 2 additional frequencies to D.R.C. for Brussels Airlines
Im not a JAF lover at all, far from even, but I would like to point out that TUI airlines Belgium are the ones with the largest profit within the whole TUI airlines group. So where would JAF stand today without TUI? probably at the same spot. Does the fact that SN is not so strong justify defending a monopoly? In my opinion, not at all. The European commission will decide.
Re: 2 additional frequencies to D.R.C. for Brussels Airlines
You think SN wouldn't have done anything if the situation would have been the other way around? Maybe they could have gone to the press again to cry about unjustice in the aviation worldOO-ITR wrote:Typical JAF...sn26567 wrote:Jetairfly: complaint with the European Commission
Jetairfly has introduced a complaint to the European Commission, following a decision of the Secretary of State for Mobility, Melchior Wathelet. The latter has decided to award two additional frequencies between Brussels and the Congolese capital of Kinshasa to Brussels Airlines.
Re: 2 additional frequencies to D.R.C. for Brussels Airlines
Indeed. They would probably have done so. My guess. If.sean1982 wrote: You think SN wouldn't have done anything if the situation would have been the other way around? Maybe they could have gone to the press again to cry about unjustice in the aviation world
But then, the same also applies if Ryanair would have been the victim here, don't you think so?
Although ... no, probably not. Jetairfly reacts polite.
Re: 2 additional frequencies to D.R.C. for Brussels Airlines
Probably yes, every airline would react to protect his own turf. No need to throw "typical JAF" around. And FR would have done the same as well, but what does this have to do with FR? Besides the usual stab under water then.
Re: 2 additional frequencies to D.R.C. for Brussels Airlines
It was off topic, indeed. But it was exactly the same remark as you did with your usual stab under water whenever Brussels Airlines is involved. Your quote: "You think SN wouldn't have done anything if the situation would have been the other way around? Re: 2 additional frequencies to D.R.C. for Brussels Airlines
Just a reaction too ITR, that's all. Fact is: the airline is just protecting it's turf. Has nothing to do with "Typical JAF". As far as I know JAF has never lodged a complaint with the E.C. so it's far from typical, as opposed to:

Re: 2 additional frequencies to D.R.C. for Brussels Airlines
A complaint at the EU is dead upon arrival, IMHO.
Why? Simple: legally speaking, there's no monopoly on BRU-FIH but rather a duopoly (with one appointed carrier from each country), with recently increased choice even thanks to the higher frequencies.
The only thing is the Congoleese aren't allowed to make use of their rights because of ... the EU blacklist, but seriously, do you think the EU will find itself in violation of its own competition rules?
As far as I know, It's nowhere written that Belgium or in fact any other European member state MUST split out their traffic rights in such cases, is there?

Re: 2 additional frequencies to D.R.C. for Brussels Airlines
Because according to me the main point in JAF's business plan is to destroy SN and take their place. If you see their reaction to the fact that they didnt get those 2 slots...They must be devastated that their plan isn't working.JOVAN wrote:Maybe we can suggesy some other destinations to JAF:OO-ITR wrote:Typical JAF...sn26567 wrote:Jetairfly: complaint with the European Commission

Johannesburg, DarEs Salaam, St Maarten, Curacao,Zanzibar, Sao Paolo,Miami, ....
Why steal the toy of SN; go for some real exciting destinations. There is so much to do in this world...
The thing that JAF forgets is that they are a charter company (oh excuse me an EX charter company) and don't have partnerships with other airlines and/or alliances. So IF SN goes bankrupt (which I sincerely don't hope because for the thousands of jobs and for the BRU airport) I'm afraid KL, AF, LH, BA, ... will increase their feeders flights to BRU and bring all these pax to their hubs. And JAF will be standing by and watching.
Or JAF could adopt an adult position and do what they do best (I'll leave open what that is) and make the belgian aviation stronger.

And may I bring another point to your attention. When SN discussed the injustice of the tax regulation in the EU (and where the EU agreed on this point), JAF (and other Belgian airlines) will also benefit from the 20mio tax compensation...So JAF be polite and say : thank you SN

Can somebody of the moderators URGENTLY close kindergarten and clean up this topic?
The constant stream of childish remarks makes any factual discussion impossible.

Re: 2 additional frequencies to D.R.C. for Brussels Airlines
I find it quite strange that Jetairfly chooses the European Commission for a domestic dispute. Kinshasa is no EU-country and will thus not collaborate. Isn't the Belgian Raad van State / Conseil D'Etat the court which can cancel this decision from the Belgian government?
Re: 2 additional frequencies to D.R.C. for Brussels Airlines
I'm trying to stay factual here, but if somebody is going to try and ridicule me in public, I'm just going to laugh back. Closing the topic is always the easiest option if there are people with an opinion that differentiates from the main stream. I still think all opinions should be vented though. In CRM it's called advocating ones position
Re: 2 additional frequencies to D.R.C. for Brussels Airlines
I think everybody has had an opportunity to voice his/her opinion. I thus close this topic.
Of course, a new topic could be opened if a new fact appears, e.g. the reaction of the European Commission.
