Re: Charleroi Airport (CRL) latest news 2012
ALL airlines have to get out of Budapest Airport Terminal 1, which will be closed to save costs, and move to Terminal 2. This is not really specific to one particular airline.airazurxtror wrote:From 30 May, all Wizzair flights to Budapest (thus also those from CRL) will be to T2 (like Ryanair).
We would like to announce that Wizz Air will move all its operation from Budapest Terminal 1 to Terminal 2 effective from 30 May 2012.

BSCA (Brussels South Charleroi Airport) is continuing its momentum. Charleroi airport expects to pass this year above 6 million passengers. Pending the outcome of his master plan, investments continue. Quick overview ...
Development of the commercial side air Through satisfaction surveys, passengers that required the limited supply of Horeca, were heard. By the end of the year, the commercial side airside (after security), is poised for development. "We will increase the number of businesses and diversify the catering industry, especially with the arrival of fast food," says Jean-Jacques Cloquet, the managing director of Charleroi airport.
Things are moving as the terminal side. Instead of the pharmacy, you will find a small supermarket.
The aircraft parking will still grow It currently has 19 locations, all occupied. Ryanair has 15 based aircraft based on the tarmac of Charleroi,Jetairfly four. A new site, which will bring the offer to 25 locations, beginning June. To receive new operators? "Our intention is obviously to continue the path of diversification. We are currently in contact with several companies, "says Jean-Jacques Cloquet.
Long-term parking and free shuttle Located along the street Firing Squad, it has recently been refurbished and secure. With a capacity of 2,500 seats, it is a breath of fresh air in times of high demand. During the summer holidays, there will be special offers for longer stays. A free shuttle bus connecting the parking / terminal.
The 'master plan' in September of this study was entrusted to AER TEC. His goal: draw up guidelines for infrastructure development of the airport short, medium and long term. Projections that we are therefore for 2025/2030.
The master plan will analyze the particular terminal extension. With nearly 6 million passengers recorded in 2011, the existing infrastructure, opened in 2008, reaching saturation. Although Jean-Jacques Cloquet talks about controlled growth to peak, attendance at the airport continues to soar up 17% last month compared with April 2011.
Will the study phase, then the work around 2016 ...
The master plan will also analyze the opportunity to extend the runway at Charleroi, in light of technological developments and current performance of aircrafs. As a reminder, there are plans to increase the runway to 2,900 meters (2,550 against today). An initial impact assessment was carried out. It was then to stretch the track up to 3,200 meters. But the green party(ecolo), landing in the Walloon Executive in 2009, changed everything, bringing the bar to 2,900 m. So, we revised the whole procedure from scratch. The conclusions of the master plan is expected for September.

Re: Charleroi Airport (CRL) latest news 2012
From 1st October Ryanair will cancel the Charleroi-Oujda route (4 weekly flights) and reduce the frequency of the Charleroi-Fez route to 2 flights per week instead of four.
This is the result of the steep increase in handling charges at Moroccan airports after the government decided to impose a monopoly on handling companies.

That's just crazy - they already have one of the safest places to work at... and frankly, when I see them in the office, they don't look that stressed by their job...Passenger wrote:As from Wednesday, a police union will try to scr.. up the holiday from thousands of passengers at CRL:

It looks like I was wrong anyway, they have soooo much work... poor guys, really...
An internship in any private company would help them more than a strike, I think... How sad that is.
Re: Charleroi Airport (CRL) latest news 2012
Since most flights out of CRL are to Schengen area destinations, they really don't have so much to do. What's the matter with those 51 (!) guys? Does CRL really need 65 of them?

I'm not a big fan of them either, but let's face it, we are far from a PS style gov.
