new A319 for SN

Re: new A319 for SN
I still think that the reasons must be different. Taking Air France and KLM, one uses Airbus, the other one uses Boeing.
Surely it's more rational to choose the Airbus, regarding the maintenance of aircraft (Lufthansa Technik), but is this the only reason for SN?
What interests me are the specifics and precises facts making the decision for this or that aircraft.

Re: new A319 for SN
I wouldn't really say that, the a319 can carry ld3 cargo, which the 737 can't.Crosswind wrote:Why the A319 would be better than the B737, for SN? I know that the cabin of the Airbus is wider, but for the rest?
I flew a lot as a passenger on these two, and for a comfort standpoint, there is no real differences between them ... More, the 737NG is a real "pure-sang" both in performance and fuel efficiency. Certainly not less than the Airbus
I'm just wondering. I guess the capacity of the 319 would be more adapted...?
and the cabin is wider on the a320 family.
Re: new A319 for SN
Still no pictures of the new A319 or A333?
Re: new A319 for SN
Conti764 posted a pic of the A319 in this subject on the 4th of January.
For the A333, here is a link :

For pictures of these A/C with the SN livery, i'm afraid it's a bit too early...

We will have to wait some more I think. Patience is a beautiful gift.

Re: new A319 for SN
The A333 will arrive in BRU on 10 March, normally. From than he will be prepared for SN operations, probably starting in June. So we have to wait at least until the end of March to see him in BRU.Air Ella wrote:I meant the pictures of the A/C with SN livery. But anyways thanks.

The A319 should enter in service from April, but I've no idea when he will get the new paint. But he will get the Star Alliance colors, no SN colors.

Re: new A319 for SN
same reason as why delta sticks to the DC9 and even looks for DC9's from other operaters?Crosswind wrote:I still think that the reasons must be different. Taking Air France and KLM, one uses Airbus, the other one uses Boeing.

performance is overrated on shorthaul imo unlike maintenance/spare parts

Indeed, design is nice, but somehow I have the feeling something below the wings is missing ??diminbru wrote:WOW wonderful.

Re: new A319 for SN
Well, if we expect 2 "new" A319's and F-OHJY is actually ex OO-SSE, can we expect the same treatment?diminbru wrote:Anyone knows what will happen with F-OHJY?
I surely hope so!
PS: Not too reassuring to see that plane without engines, is it that common to remove them?
