Le Bourget Airshow 2005 (friday) + PICTURES !

Post by Andries »

Yesterday I went to Le Bourget with my class. It was an obligated schooltrip so I couldn't say no  We all came together at school at 6:30 to take the bus to LBG and eventually at 6:37 we left for LBG ...
Normally you could get in LBG by bus from Ostend in about 4 hours ... it took us little over 6 ... By the time we arrived there it was 12:45. Then we had to get in (small) line to get inside and then we had to go through all these Hall's in order to get to the static display.

To my great discontent I immediatly noticed some things weren't there, like the Italian B767 tanker and the DC-10 waterbomber :( Static display was hard to photograph because of all the fences and people, but some were possible. Eventually we did one side of the static and continued on to the spot for viewing the flying display. There we sat forabout 3.5 hours wathing very very nice demo's like A318, A340, A380, Su-27, EF Typhoon, Rafale, F-18, ...
But after a while, we started noticing some other things were gone too, like the C-17, An-140, AH-64 Apache, ... Those were supposed to fly but were gone. The Falcon 7X was on static and didn't fly :(

But considered we only were there for 5 hours and it was cloudy all day long, I am happy with the fact I saw some very nice aircraft and have some very nice pics !

Pics will be edited today and uploaded onto http://www.airliners.be
I will let you know when they are online.

Greetz,

It was really fantastic!!!
I visited the Air Show with the same School trip.

First I visited the hall with the Rolls and Pratts.
After that I rushed to the flying display to enjoy the show.

Especially the A340-600 and the Flanker display was fantastic!
This was my first visit to this airshow, but it's not my last.

Hello

Very nice pics!!!!!!

It IS just a remarkable airshow!!

But next year Farnboroug so...maybe I do Have a chance...and if I'm correct there will be the same visitors (except the airlines who send the types are different) , and if I'm not mistaking it would also be in July?? That would be even better?

Anybody knows all about?

Thanks and Best regards: Yannick ;)

Ya, great pix you make Andries. Unfortunately, even the B747-400 F had leaved before I came today.

Great pics dude, I was there yesterday too, and indeed the 747F was already gone...
It was nice, allthough we spent most of the time in a hot bus without airco...
I will post some pics later today, if they're any good, first have to work... (on a friggin' sunday)

It really is too bad that the aircraft don't stay the entire show ... first the DC-10, B767, C-17, AN-140, ... and now even the 747 ... What will be gone today ? The A380 and 777 ?

Well, we were gone for 15 hours of which we spent 10 hour in a bus (luckely with airco)

Great shots Andries, thank for sharing them with us.
The manouvres that the A340-600 does are really amazing for such a large aircraft (I know that its empty, but nevertheless). I saw it doing a flying display at the ILA 2004, and it never stops to amaze me how these big machine can do such awsome things! :D

And I agree with you, the SU-27 Flanker is one hell of a great fighter (looking at the 1:72 model of the Flanker next to me)!

Hi,

I just found this interior-picture of the B777-200LR at Le Bourget. I heard you can't get in the plane without knowing a sales manager, so I hope this pic will show it.

WOW, very nice cabin. I've already seen some pics at airliners.net , but every pic is welcome.

Like I said in my topic, I've asked for an invitation to get into this B777LR, but it wasn't possible because I didn't know a salesmanager  :(

I would love to know how other people got into this amazing plane :slaver:
