Iraqi Airways B767 to Brussels

Post by Tristar1 »

Iraqi Airways B767-200 9L-LFF is expected at Brussel on Tuesday 21 June. Departure from Heathrow at 13:15 local time, so arrival at BRU at around 15:00
Probably for maintenance as aircraft originated from the States.

Note that this Iraqi Airways made its first flight from Baghad to London Heathrow today with the Iraqi Prime Minister on board.

as far as I was aware the aircraft flew Kuwait City to LHR with the prime minister, so I expect his next stop is BRU.

The Spotters database at
https://www.aviation24.be/contentid-67.html
says : 21/06/2005 9L-LEL B727-247 Iraqi Airways VIP flight from London, eta ?

So what will it be, a 727 or a 767?

As the 767 is already @ EGLL it will be the "six".

Goodmorning,
Skystef, sorry, but this sounds very mysterious :
EGLL = Bierset ?
"six" = 767 or something else ?

ETA of 9L-LFF is now 13:00 local time. There is also a Kuwaiti Airways A320 expected at 18:45 local time. Both in connection with the Conference on the reconstruction of Iraq held at Brussels.

One addition: a USAF C-32A should also arrive today as Condoleezza Rice, US Secretary of State, is expected in Brussel for the Conference on Iraq. I don't have an ETA.

Does anyone has dep. times or are both nightstoppers? and furthermore, does this conference generate some more special traffic?

If the Iraqi 767 will be there this evening, I might come over and take a look at it. However, as I will be coming from Eindhoven (NL) I want to make sure I won't be driving for nothing.

Grtz.

How is the situation there in Brussels?

How are the aircraft parked and where? Is it good for a Nightspotting session maybe?

And hopefully some ETD's will be released.

Regards

A9C-BAH Gulfstream IV: tail to the fence at Abelag
9L-LFF B762: in front of DHL hangar (nose towards the hangar)
98-0002 C-32A: usual paking spot
9K-AKD A320: in front of DHL hangar (parallel to the hangar) no good for pix
YK-ASC Falcon 900: in front of GA entrance (nose towards the gate)

The B707 (N88ZL) and the Royal Jet BBJ which came back this afternoon (A6-RJZ) seemed to be preparing for departure when I left at 19:15
