Bombardier Q400 in Antwerp
Bombardier presents his Q400 in Antwerp on th 8/06 at 10 am. Is VLM interessed?
The Q400 is an extraordinary modern technology turboprop, offering airlines exceptional economics with jet speed and comfort in the 70 seat market. With a maximum cruise speed of 360 kts, outstanding performance and seating of up to 78 passengers, the Q400 provides airlines with greater revenue-generating opportunities in regional and low cost markets and extends an airline's reach well beyond traditional turboprop markets. The Q400 is easily as fast as most jets on airline routes under 500 miles (800 km)

The Q400 landed this evening at 18:20.
Surprise, Surprise! The aircraft is not painted in Embraer colours, but in the colours of QANTAS LINK !!!
Who would have thought of ever seeing a Qantas aircraft in ANR?
The demo flight is on Thursday 09/06/05.
Possible schedule 11:00 ANR-LCY 14:00 LCY-ANR.
The aircraft is expected to leave to LBG early on Friday morning.

You mean probably BBD instead of EmbraerEstablished02 wrote:Surprise, Surprise! The aircraft is not painted in Embraer colours, but in the colours of QANTAS LINK !!!
The Q400 is indeed an amazing aircraft. If you want a fast aircraft, but still more fuel efficient than a RJ, the Q400 is for you!
Speed:
ATR72-500<BBD 8-Q400<Regional Jet
Fuel Efficient:
ATR72-500>BBD 8-Q400>Regional Jet

I flew KLM's F70 recently and I found the cabin to be very comfortable.
Unfortunately F70's are hardly available on the second hand market these days.

Thanks for correcting, HorsePower.

True ... and that is probably why this aircraft comes at a rather hefty price.

Oh sure, zillions of them.
The Antwerp A-S-A community had a whole bunch of hungry photographers hanging around the plane. I'm sure that their results will soon appear on www.a-s-a.be
Today the plane made a return flight to LCY around noon time.
I heard it will leave tomorrow for LBG at around 10:00.

Not only the shot but did you read this piece of speculation or not yet known information:
Greetz,
Erwin
If this is really true the Netherlands can be proud again about their aviation history.........but let's see what will be anounced! But most of the Fokker 50 will be replaced by brand new Fokker 70New Generation aircraft as VLM Airlines ordered 10. VLM Airlines is one of the launching customers for the Fokker 70NG which will be announced at the Paris Air Show.
