What to expect from Cathay Pacific Airways?

Post by TMT98 »

I'll be flying with Cathay Pacific this summer (first journey will be in 11 days :!: ) and I would like to know what CX is like.
I'll be flying AMS - HKG, HKG - DPS, CGK - HKG and of course HKG - AMS.
They're probably all A343 (D and C types). I read some things over the internet and some friends of my mom's went to HKG in '97, so that's not realy recent.
I do know they got StudioCX (PTV's) and they're offering some kind of menu and an amenity kit.

I hope someone could tell me more within 11 days

good to hear.. I just read that the IFE boxes are onderneath de windowseats wich are reducing the seat pitch, is this true and if so, is it realy annoying? (since I gotan average length for the western world, but tall for the Asian world this could be a problem)

I just came back from a round trip LHR-HKG-CEB, and I couldn't agree more with the above comment. CX is definitely one of the top airlines anywhere in the world. Recommended!

thnx for the replies 8)

Good to hear, can't wait 'till next week thursday.

I'll be in hong kong for like 5 days (including arrival day and departure day) so that'll be some experience too.

I'm sure I'll be having fun at bali, was there last year too and that couldn't been better (perhaps going outside of our resort is 1 point.. oh well, we had a wonderfull hotel).

First would go with Adam Air from DPS to CGK, but they kicked us out of the database (don't ask me how or why, my fam. took care of that).
We're on Citilink Garuda Airlines now. Never heard of that low cost part of Garuda, hope they'll have more service than on Transavia, like "free" food.

I'm also thinking of online check-in for CX.. don't know exactly what will happen if I will, 'cause my mom and a friend are with me and they don't have Asia Miles (it's all on my name when it comes to "Frequent" Fly programs, got a few memberships, used them like once or so). So does someone has some information about online check-in from CX?
