Aye - fair enough to AC. However the competition isn't exactly fierce is it?!! I know the market is fierce but the standard of service on most NA airlines is god awful - especially internally. Even internationally they lag behind most European / Asian / Middle Eastern airlines in terms of service standard. Only last night I was on a 6hr 10 min flight with AF from cdg to dxb and got served a full meal (egg salad, beef casserole, cheese, yogurt and pear tart with bread rolls), as much red wine as I wanted and a small breakfast of brioche, fromage frais, oj and coffee. Now take the overnight on CO fae Houston to AMS and see what you get - and they are supposed to one of the better ones.....oh and I had a PTV.

And here is what they have on order including options

36 Boeing 777s,
60 Boeing 787 Dreamliners,
90 EMB190 Embraer Jets,
15 EMB175's.

and expanding on what bits44 said

2 Airbus A340-500's,
9 Airbus A340-300's,
8 Airbus A330-300's,
29 Boeing B767-300ER's,
8 Boeing B767-200ER's,
15 Airbus A321-200's,
53 Airbus A320-200's,
47 Airbus A319-100's,
and 25 Bombardier CRJ100's the CRJ are being transferred to the regional carrier Jazz. All the 340s, 330s, and 767 are being replaced over the next 7 years. There is also talk of replacing the narrow body fleet with Boeing's replacement for the 737. That has not been substantiated and is a long way down the road.

Latest info I have they are also hiring up to 600 pilots over the next 2 years.
