Movie: Airbus A340 flying low over a house

Post by luchtzak »

Hi all,

check this movie I got via e-mail: https://www.aviation24.be/downloadview-det ... ly-by.html

The journalist seems amazed that the Airbus A340 flies so low over that house while the other one shouts 'heddedagezien' 'did you see that?', only 5 meters away from the house ;-)

Anyone knows the real story behind that small movie? Documentary? On which tv-channel etc...

thanks,

Bart

it was made bij Spijkerman (I presume) for the program 'Kopspijkers'. It was about the location of this farm, which was located between the highway (E40), the railway and under the final approach of runway 02.

WoW this is absolutely mad!

Any further information? I mean did they have to lease the plane for an hour? did it get special authorization to fly that low and so dangerously?

Looked at it 5 times and yes indeed it's in the dutch part of belgium... flemish accent and typical belgian house.

Cheers for the post very good one indeed!

The original report was longer and there you can see that the house lies in fact right under the 25L approach path of Brussels...

Correct Bottie, the house was standing in the final approach area of runway 02. The farm was destroyed and major construction works have now connected the airport with a rail link to Leuven.

The movie is great :)

And I really like the look of the guy on the left next to the farmer. He seems so scared

I've seen the show. It's indeed from "Kopspijkers" and it was shown a time ago on Nederland 3. I was impressed too 8O Just behind the trees do you have a small road and there starts the runway (they walked there around). Every one or two minutes a plane passed over the house and I believed his house had several dammage on the roof due to the extraordinary noise what's coming from the planes.

Btw, does anyone know if the house still excists?? This show was a compilation of the most impressed visits of Jack Spijkerman and the fragment is from a long time ago.

;)

I've found the whole part of the show. Jack Spijkerman visits the family Hansen. Just take a look, it's very impressionable (in dutch):

Thanks a lot for that great movie!!!! It's so funny!! :D

I think this reportage was made in 1996, as farmer Hansen was talking about the news on tv that children were murdered. I believe he was referring to Dutroux. I'm not sure, but i believe that it must have been from 1996.

That area has completely changed right now, as major construction works have connected the airport with a rail link to Leuven and Liège, a link which is supposed to open in the autumn of this year. Therefore they have pulled down the house.

Thanks very much for the link Flying_Dutchman! I found it a very funny and good documentary.

Reminds me of good old Sabena with Airbus A340 and Fokker 50 !

Bad luck that the farmer had to move, hopefully he has a new and good location where he can have a good night rest!

I saw this video too, a few weeks ago I think.
Looks spectacular! :D I would like to have such an uncle with his house a "few" yard of the runway!

yes an uncle, so he can get the pain in his ears... :P

I would love too to get a similar house, but not so close to the runway. Near the polderbaan you have a small neighbourhood with many villas, but unfortunately we can't afford such villa. But a house parrallel with the runway would be very nice ;)

The video is very funny indeed, in special the farmer :D
with his 100 frank runway light in his yard. I guess that he's now almost deaf after many years living under a flightpath

Flying Dutchman,

Let us buy a small house near the runway. We start to collect some money in this community. When we got enough money we buy a house and everyone is welcome!
Everybody is happy then :D

 what an idea

imagine, a kind of spotters-hotel, parrallel with the runway so guests have a great view on the runway from the begin to the end and ofcourse some excursions to the airport and tours around the airport. ;)

Good idea!
The only thing I miss at Zaventem is a great spotting terrace like Schiphol. Long time I've been there. But in a few weeks we go to tavern "Jumbo" near the runway where I can have a good meal and drink while watching the birdies coming in. :)

Well, I've never been at BRU only passed by. but doesn't BRU offer a panorama view aside the runway, like the polderbaan at AMS??
Anyway, I would like to visit BRU once ;)
