Rumoured: a second B767 for TUI Airlines Belgium - TUI

Post by luchtzak »

TUI Airlines Belgium plans to lease or buy a second Boeing 767. Expecting to fly as from October/November. Currently the 767 is not operational yet.

Currently TUI uses 1 B767, the OO-TUC where the first flights where not very smooth: https://www.aviation24.be/postp65680.html#65680 operating on Varadero, Cancun and the Dominican Republic.

Extra crew will be hired to operate the aircraft.

i'm pretty sure you meant to type OO-TUC

otherwise the real OO-TUB would have gotten a stretch and wing extension :o

Should be good to see another 767 for TUI, although after getting the Fokker 100, who knows what other types we may see in blue!

Yeah, a 'Seven Seas' or 'Starliner' in 1st class layout, with tremendous seat pitch, Audrey Hefburn styled flight attendants, four star meals, etc. etc. I bet a lot of travellers would love it 8)

TUI Hollands got already a couple of 767 from HXL. Doesn't make sense to pull together these aicrafts and OO-TUC?

Ugly livery if you ask me.

By the way, have they resolved all the problems with OO-TUC? No more technical issues?

Ugly livery, why didn't they paint the whole aircraft in a blue color, would be much nicer!

They will paint it completely bleu, they couldn't do it know because they couldn't miss the plane any longer, because they have a very busy schedule!

And I think this is nice for a change, not that same boring TUI colors AGAIN

It seems that it will go well with Tui Airlines Belgium. But, it's still a rumour, again, that they want a second B 767.

The Varig a/c in H41 is a LOT 767 now, painted in Star alliance colors.

Would like to see a second B767 for TUI, but what would they do with that. As far as I understand they normally need around 5 flights a week for long haul. Maybe they need it for the shorter ranges too (Egypt, Turkey)?

Very unlikely that they will use it for short routes like Egypt or Turkey. This is good in a holiday season but not for a whole year.
Are they maybe looking for new destinations, Thailand??

Atlantis, you could be right: Jetair planned to use Phuket Air, ex AMS...

Yes, but even with Thailand, they do not need a complete new plane (would only be several flights a week)??
Maybe they intend flying also for others? SNBA like Sobelair did before? If SNBA can't get hold on a new A333, then maybe this would be a solution?

Maybe we can find the solution in the new winterbrochures. If there are some new far destinations we get the answer. But it's still a rumour, for so far no futher news of new destinations or airplanes on the site of Jetair.

That's some interesting news indeed.

It would be nice to see TUI aquire an additional B767. Let's hope that one won't be from Varig as well ;)
