The Delaware-based Jet Airways Inc - which is yet to launch its commercial
operations -- in its objection on May 23 before DOT claimed that the Jet
Airways (India), if given the permit, would threaten the US' national security as this would allegedly give Al-Qaeda "scope to fly and control aircraft" over American cities.
Completely stupid
Anyway this might delay their new service to EWR. :dammit:
It was not only posted in Industantimes, but also in Justplanes.com.
In the USA is also a small airline with the name Jet Airways. They accused Jet Airways (India) to use money of Al-Qaeda and they said Jet Airways is build on top of Al-Qaeda. The DOT are now checking everything, so the first flight to Newark is in danger.
If Jet Airways (USA) has no proof or anything, they have to shut there mouth. This is just jalousy. This is just typical.
I've just checked it: as per today, there are no BRU-BOM flights in the GRS - airline reservations systems. Not on 23th June, not for August, not for September.
Moreover still no official press release by 9W.
That's make no sense, UA is code-sharing with 9W on the LHR-BOM route. So why CO
9W is flying to EWR thus with whom would they codeshare? Moreover, 9W codeshares with KL, AF, NW and thus CO fits (and an invatation from Skyteam wouldn't be a bad thing).

"Jet Airways could potentially face problems with the launch of its Mumbai to Newark service. Click Here to read more about this story."
Click where my friend
And today it was reported in many leading dailies in India that Jet Airways shall soon announce its much awaited flights to the United States with the sector being Mumbai - Brussels - Newark. When it was not specified.
I've just returned from my travel agent, who has checked Galileo (his reservations system) for me. "LX-LGX, if you want to fly 9W to BOM on 23th June, you will have to take a BD to LHR and then board 9W117 there, a nice A340-300 by the way. Because there is no direct flight BRU-BOM that day. Neither there is on 24th, 25th June, ..., 15 Sept, 31st Oct."
I then tried to book through their website: as per today, Newark and/or Brussels are not in their list with destinations.
23th June : that's exactly 3 weeks to go. I'm not familiar with the Indian way of life, but it's strange that it is still impossible to book: tickets have to be issued, travel plans have to be made, hotels have to be booked, visas have to be arranged.
Perhaps they want to beat Air Zimbabwe's world record for low occupancy in the first revenue flight DXB-HRE (1 pax)?

Plzzzzzzzzzz do not compare with Air Zimbabwe 8O .
Patience pays my dear friend and who knows you are the lucky one to be given a complimentary ticket by Jet Airways if you participate in their lucky draw through a quiz. Visit www.jetairways.com and
Today at www.aircolours.com, Jet Airways first flight from Bombay to Newark via AMS at JUNE 25. Can it more confused then it is.
But it has to be confirmed. I have to say that everything has to be confirmed: The US don't give their permission to organize a flight and for so far on the site of Jet Airways are no future flights announced.
So it can be two directions: via Bru (on June 23) or via AMS (on June 25)

That information is unupdated. The requested Jet airways slots for Amsterdam were deleted yesterday. The flight will start the 23th to EWR via Brussel.
On A.net a topic says that 9W could use two EK A345 to fly BOM-EWR non-stop !!
Those would be EK A345 that EK wouln't want to use in 2005.
FB.
These are only rumors, nobody has confirmed it. If the BOM-BRU-EWR is working well then no need to replace it with a direct flight. If 9W gets those A345 they will be used to fly to other US gateways.
