Buying airplanes or buying an other company?Travel company Transat A.T. Inc. will have a new business plan by this fall that will include what to do with its excess cash
It seems they are not interrested by buying an other company. It appears they are looking (unsurprisely) for an efficient fleet comonalty.Even if an Ontario travel company were for sale, Eustache said it would add other aircraft types to its fleet at Air Transat, making it less efficient. Air Transat has 14 aircraft composed of two similar models, Airbus A330s and A310s.
Air Transat has a good relation with Westjet. I have not heard of any with Air Canada. They have just signed a 30 month agreement with Westjet. That builds on the success of a two-year agreement implemented in 2003. I don't see them buying any narrow bodies in the near future.B744skipper wrote: Btw, I do not know how relations between Air Transat and Air Canada are (or will be in the future), but could we see Air Transat joining the order for Boeing aircraft that already has been made by Air Canada??
Any opinions about this theory?
How do you compare that? By just looking at the total of fuel consumed by the aircraft on a certain route? Or do you compare that by seat mile? Because the B772ER can hold more seats, so when looking at fuel consumed by seat for a certain distance, the difference to other types (A330/A350) would be significantly lower. The 772ER is a fuel guttler compared to the 332/333 for a typical transatlantic mission. Even worst compared to the A350.
You seriously thought it'd be a great idea to revive a thread from TEN YEARS AGO for THAT?transat777 wrote:Go for B777-300ER and B787-8 and B787-9
