Post by HorsePower »

Air Caraïbes will lease a third A330. The A330-300, with a capacity of 375 seats, will be delivered in JUN 2006.

The airlines operates currently 2 A330-200 leased from ILFC.
The airline operate also 2 ATR 72-500 and have 2 E-170 on order.

It could be, but wouldn't it make more sense to aquire a PW engined A333. Since the two other ones have PW engines......

Air Caraïbes is the PTP-based regional airline (C208, Do228, ATR42/72, ERJ145).
Air Caraïbes Atlantique is the ORY-based long-haul airline (A332).

But they are both in the Groupe Dubreuil and operate both under the Air Caraïbes-brand.

The order for the two Embraer 170 is cancelled!!! But they (Air Caraïbes) ordered one more ATR72!

Viasa, why do you think it could be c/n 054? This aircraft is currently operated by Air Algérie and appears to be leased from AWAS.

Yes, the Groupe Dubreuil is the owner. it is the same who sold Régional airlines to AF Group.
The order for the two Embraer 170 is cancelled!!!
I wasn't aware about that, thanks!
Air Caraïbes is the PTP-based regional airline (C208, Do228, ATR42/72, ERJ145).
Air Caraïbes is now Air Antilles Express. Some aircrafts are still in Air Caraïbes livery.

Air Caraïbes is now Air Antilles Express.
In my opinion is this just wrong!!! Air Antilles Express is an independent airline from PTP but also with ATR42!

The owner is the Guyane Aero Invest

All Airbus A330-300 are in service. I think the leasing period with Air Algérie is soon past (because of the delivery of the A330-200-fleet). An other possibility is also the order of a new Airbus A330-300!

Operator of A330-300:
- Aer Lingus ( 4 )
- Air Algérie ( 1 )
- Air Canada ( 8 )
- Air Luxor ( 2 )
- Air Transat ( 1 )
- Asiana Airlines ( 1 )
- Cathay Pacific ( 23 )
- China Airlines ( 3 )
- Dragonair ( 10 )
- Garuda Indonesia ( 6 )
- Iberworld Airlines ( 1 )
- Korean Air ( 16 )
- LTU ( 3 )
- Lufthansa ( 8 )
- Malaysia Airlines ( 11 )
- MyTravel Airways Scandinavia ( 3 )
- Northwest Airlines ( 8 )
- Philippines ( 8 )
- Qantas ( 8 )
- Qatar Airways ( 2 )
- SAS Scandinavian Airlines ( 4 )
- Skyservice Airlines ( 1 ) [lst MyTravel Airways, for LTU]
- SN Brussels Airlines ( 3 )
- Thai Airways Intl ( 12 )
- US Airways ( 9 )

About the A330-300, I think it will be a new buid one.
About Air Antilles Express, you might be right. Perhaps they just took over some routes previously operated by Air Caraïbes.

Hello

Nice to hear that. Those Air Carraïbes 330's are awasome!!!!!!

Very nice planes!!! Always reminds me on last September , when F-OFDF operated several Charters on behalf of Belgium Exel plane wich was broken down(or at least that's what I remember myself...does it?).

But a 330-300 would be new for the airline...although I think I like the 332 of Air Carraïbes more than the 333 , more modern...:D

Best regards: Yannick ;)

So it is not this bird. I'm still convinced it will be a new one.

I have the information, that the plane is an Airbus A330-243 (c/n 758).

So, nothing with an A330-300.

Yes #758 is a -243 which means it'll get RR engines and this plane is indeed listed for Air Caraibes.

It's quite strange indeed... So the aircraft is for FWI and not CAJ?! I think we've missed something...

Country is not Guadeloupe*... CAJ is from France (Metropol). The HQ is in Wissous - that must be near Paris-Orly...

* okay... Guadeloupe is just a DOM of France!
